- At risk of stating the obvious, no. Soft in this context means intangible.
- That is why one cannot own or steal software. Although, one can, of course, own or steal the medium on which a copy of the software resides, or hold copyright/patents on the software or fraudulently claim to hold copyright/patents on it. And, if you believe the **AA copyright infringment is theft, but then they aren't known for being experts on the law or common sense.
- I don't think software needs specifically to be mentioned in the article though. It might be a good idea to mention the rules on `stealing' electricity (including phone service) and how it is intangible though. Maybe there is an opportunity for something about the physics somewhere. I don't know, but this is currently little more than a WP:DICDEF.
