I did some wording changes that I think makes the article read better, but I may have made things worse rather than better so feel free to revert if you think the changes aren't an improvement. This is a subject that I really know nothing about. Take all suggestions with a grain of salt.

  • of course if you plan to put this on FAC you're going to need a lot more references
  • Almost immediately upon his arrival, however, he was arrested by British authorities, and imprisoned for several months. He hoped to have a chance to argue his case under British law, and possibly seek asylum in the United Kingdom, but after several months of interrogation and being moved between the "European" and the "Chinese" sections of the jail, it was decided that he would simply be exiled from Hong Kong without charges. I'd like a sentence or two of context here. why did they have different sections and why was he moved between them?
  • In addition to his official job, he worked to improve conditions for the laborers, among whom the death toll from sickness and starvation was very high. Just a little more here if possible, what did he do for the laborers? I assume he lobbied for changes in conditions, but if you can describe one of the things that he lobbied for, or the single most important thing that he did for the workers, then I think that this would help the reader get a better impression.

Good work, hope this helps. Matt 00:26, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The paragraph that starts "Upon his release, he spent late 1948 in Yogyakarta..." says he had been imprisoned, but the previous paragraph only mentioned he was consulted about forming a government. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Felipe.pait (talkcontribs) 10:09, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
