Out-of-place quotation
[edit]TIP, the first search system that uses a database of over 25,000 records, is the first online system that can retrieve citations by bibliographic coupling or cited references and allows a searcher to save output, provide online output or provide offline printing. TIP allows left-trunation searches and Boolean searching

Anyone that has ever attended TiP will sing to the skies the wonders that are encompased within that magical place. This article is not nearly as biased as it should, and has a right, to be. Please leave the TiP page up to experienced TiPsters.

Wow, what a nerd. Xihix 00:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Pretty much. No matter how much you like TiP, the Wikipedia article doesn't deserve to be as butchered as you say it should. --Thatkidsam 17:25, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Major cleanup needed
[edit]Wow, this article is dirty -- no doubt the result of TIP students' editing the site after their experiences. The unsourced quote a few paragraphs in must be attributed soon or will be deleted. The article as a whole should do a better job of representing all of the programs TIP offers, of which the popular Center for Summer Studies and Academy for Summer Studies are just a part (see TIP Scholar Weekends, etc.). Citations List for Articles Related to Intelligence and Giftedness
[edit]You may find it helpful while reading or editing articles to look at a bibliography of Intelligence Citations, posted for the use of all Wikipedians who have occasion to edit articles on human intelligence and related issues. I happen to have circulating access to a huge academic research library at a university with an active research program in these issues (and to another library that is one of the ten largest public library systems in the United States) and have been researching these issues since 1989. You are welcome to use these citations for your own research. You can help other Wikipedians by suggesting new sources through comments on that page. It will be extremely helpful for articles on human intelligence and gifted young people to edit them according to the Wikipedia standards for reliable sources for medicine-related articles, as it is important to get these issues as well verified as possible. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 05:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Maybe press release template would be better for the main page.
[edit]Even more than like an advertisement, the article reads like a press release. How about that template change? (Better still, of course, to find sources and fix the article.) -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 00:30, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
What is it?
[edit]I can't even figure out what it is? Is it an online program? Or is it a summer camp of some kind? This is very confusing. Fxm12 (talk) 21:49, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
- Fxm12, if you send me $40 so I can get my kid to take the exam, I'll let you know. Also, yeah, bad article. Drmies (talk) 21:17, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
Ok so Duke TIP is a program for gifted students. It involves many, many opportunities including but not limited to Summer studies(camp), scholar weekends, and online programs. It is really great and you meet other students with similar interests. There is something for everyone, even though some of the programs are very expensive(financial aid anyone?). It is not a camp or an online program, but these are available. Hope this helps:) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.194.172.74 (talk) 14:43, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
