early post

[edit]

Takeichi Nishi(西竹一, Nishi Takeichi July 12, 1902) - ) is an officer of Imperial Army on March 22, 1945. A gold medalist of Los Angeles Olympics equestrian event. I acted as the 26th tank regiment commander and was killed in action by a fight of Iwo Jima. Last rank is Rikugun Taisa (colonel).

Type 96 tank

[edit]

The Japanese article I translated most of the content from states that the 26th had Type 97 and Type 96 tanks. Type 97 is understandable, but I don't think there was a Type 96. The most likely candidate is the Type 95 Ha-Go, the article for which states that it was used by the 26th. If anyone can shed some light on this or just make appropriate changes, it would be much appreciated. - BanyanTree 19:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edited photo?

The full (unedited) picture of Nishi as a young officer shows him in Germany on military school exchange with young nazi officers. Just FYI. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.210.10.114 (talk) 02:32, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
