Tagoloan IITagoloan, Lanao del Sur – Presidential Decree No. 1548 and other related laws did not state "II" on the municipal charter. https://www.officialgazette.gov.ph/1978/06/11/presidential-decree-no-1548-s-1978/ Exec8 (talk) 16:07, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment: I would like to echo ERAMnc's input at Talk:Baliuag#Requested move 22 June 2020: "Perhaps WP:NAME would give some light in naming rules in the English Wikipedia. Per that WP article, wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources) as such names will usually best fit the five criteria listed above. When there is no single, obvious name that is demonstrably the most frequently used for the topic by these sources, editors should reach a consensus as to which title is best by considering these criteria directly."
Immediate Google searching yields the following:
Using "Tagoloan"
Using "Tagoloan II" (but I suspect it is due to Wikipedia and Google Maps' influence)

I will stay neutral and let this RM run its course. _ JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 04:06, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support. As per given sources and also as per WP:CONCISE. It should be noted that as per the municipality's Facebook pages 1, 2 (including the seal and actual usage in government tarpaulins, and the municipal hall signage) "Tagoloan" is the most common usage. Note that there is an ocassional usage of Tagoloan 2 or Tagoloan II.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 14:30, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Support. It seems clear to me that Tagoloan is actually the common name, and the addition of the II is some sort of bureaucratic technicality which just sometimes gets picked up by media. As the first commenter indicated above, that is in turn likely because of Wikipedia. The article should just have an "sometimes also known as..." description in the lead. - Batongmalake (talk) 00:21, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
