B class review

[edit]

C class (b2=no) because of the following issues. Please fix. Djmaschek (talk) 04:00, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the very thorough review, Djmaschek, this was extremely helpful. I've made modifications to the article; see point-by-point summary below (let me know if this is not a good way to format this). -Ljleppan (talk) 09:53, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • English grammar. NO: lake Segozero. YES: Lake Segozero. Always capitalize titles. "We swam in Lake Ladoga. The water in the lake was cold."
    • Fixed.
  • Early life. The infobox lists his birthday. This also needs to be in the narrative.
    • Fixed.
  • Early life. Please use the link: squad leader.
    • Fixed.
  • Before the Winter War. He served in the Finnish Civil War. The article needs to say which side: Red, White or Imperial German?
    • On White side, fixed.
  • Before the Winter War. Please add the dates of the Finnish Civil War battles so the reader will know when they happened. Thanks.
    • Fixed. The battle of Tampere/Lempäälä was weird (the timeline didn't make sense to me) so I rephrased that part.
  • Before the Winter War. If you know the dates of his various promotions before major general, please add them.
    • Added.
  • During the Winter etc. Where did the 1st Division and I Corps serve in the Winter War? What he did he do during this war? I am sure a lot of things happened. But there is only one sentence.
    • Expanded Winter War and Continuation War, split into two sections.
  • During the Winter etc. The article says the units he commanded during WW2, but very little about what he did. Is there any information about what he did during this war?
    • I think the idea here was to link Winter War and Cont.War to the larger WW2 conflict, but this was probably just misleading. Removed from infobox.
  • During the Winter etc. There are several awards mentioned in the infobox. They also need to be in the narrative, with dates if possible.
    • Added to relevant places in the prose. I don't have a date for the Order of the Star of Romania, so it's lumped together with the German awards.
  • After the war. The infobox has his death day, death location, and cemetery. This also needs to be in the narrative.
    • Added
  • After the war. Is there any data about his personal life? Who were his parents? Did he marry and have children? Did he do anything besides serve in the army, like play violin or collect stamps?
    • Added wife, children and non-military activities to "Before the Winter War"; post-war heritage organization activites. Seems to have done rather little during the relatively short time from retirement to death.
  • If you know anything more about this person, it would help to add it to this article. There is not very much information.
    • See above. Also added note about activites during the interim peace and did some general expansion.
