Name of company
[edit]Hey - good to see this up, but it is TC Group - not TC-Group :-) [1]Gabarker (talk) 14:52, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
Yes - you're right, my mistake! Their official website[2] refers to TC Group rather than TC-Group. I will correct this. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 14:58, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
It seems I can't rename the page - I need to wait 4 days and have made enough edits before I'm allowed to move the page. [3] Squishysquashy23 (talk) 15:14, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
I've now moved the page to "TC Group". Squishysquashy23 (talk) 17:02, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
I found a reference to "TC-Group" - please be careful and refer to its proper name, "TC Group"! Squishysquashy23 (talk) 14:24, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Grammar
[edit]This is a very small matter, but I am finding that the use of "Overall" in your second sentence is superfluous. Gabarker (talk) 15:12, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
Is it superfluous? I think it makes the overall paragraph more readable, otherwise it's like listing bullet points of facts inside a paragraph. It also provides scope for adding more preamble text before it - what do you think? Squishysquashy23 (talk) 17:10, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
It is not a battle I need to win - and I appreciate your point. Perhaps if more additions are made to the page, I'll take a look and have more to say about 'flow'. Gabarker (talk) 17:17, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
I've a few minor grammar and punctuation suggestions.
- The comma before tantalum alloy isn't needed.
- 'Terms' should be singular.
- I'd also suggest putting quotation marks around 'tantalum alloy' to set it off from the rest of the text.
- Finally, 'development their products' needs 'of' between 'development' and 'their,' but since Tannoy is a company and thus a singular noun, 'their' should also be 'its'. Hope these are helpful.
SirPelleas (talk) 06:37, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
Well spotted, SirPelleas - I've now made the corrections. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 17:23, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
Minor correction: 'TC Electronic has produced a variety of guitar & bass effects as well as branching out into the area of broadcast and transmission' does not use parallel sentence structure. I've corrected it to the following: 'TC Electronic has produced a variety of guitar and bass effects and has also branched out into the area of broadcast and transmission.' SirPelleas (talk) 02:54, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, Squishy! SirPelleas (talk) 02:32, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
To the user who's added the more recent history about TC America and TC International, thank you kindly! However, the superscripted citation number should go after the punctuation. I've fixed this throughout the page. Thanks again! SirPelleas (talk) 02:34, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
I noticed the introductory section needed a few tweaks:
- Added the indefinite article "a" before "Danish" in "TC Group is Danish multinational corporation..."
- It's more conventional to spell out numbers that are fewer than three words in length (changed "4 market verticals" to "four market verticals").
- A colon rather than a dash is more conventional and professional before a list (changed "four market verticals - Musician, Install & Tour..." to "four market verticals: Musician, Install & Tour...")
- Finally, the second paragraph in the introduction was a long run-on sentence. I broke it into a list punctuated by semicolons, as it would have been confusing to use commas to separate items in a series if those items also use commas. SirPelleas (talk) 04:28, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Opening Description
[edit]One company not mentioned is White Acoustics. Their product portfolio is created by the TC Group companies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Knax1234 (talk • contribs) 09:51, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Is this something that should be in the opening description, or part of the company history, or both? Squishysquashy23 (talk) 14:28, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Company History
[edit]Hi -- I noticed that there's no reference to support the statement that TC Group acquired Tannoy and Martin Audio in 2002. Does anyone have a reference for this? SirPelleas (talk) 06:48, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
Actually, regarding my above comment: I did some digging and found what I think is a suitable reference, which I've added. I also found a reference for Martin Audio's purchase of Tannoy (also added). SirPelleas (talk) 02:43, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
As TC Group acquired Tannoy and Martin Audio specifically to branch out into speaker technology, I added this information along with the reference I added earlier to this section. SirPelleas (talk) 02:28, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that the incorporation of TC Group lacked a reference, so I dug one up and added it. This incorporation represents the beginning of a larger campaign of audio company acquisition and distribution partnerships by TC Group, which I also thought was a fair point to add. SirPelleas (talk) 02:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Can we have a reference for "This was followed by many speakers for professional, touring and high-end residential applications."? Squishysquashy23 (talk) 13:57, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
We also need a reference for "In 2005 it purchased the remaining shares from IVL and has continued to develop this company as TC-Helicon." Squishysquashy23 (talk) 14:16, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Question: is it worth breaking down the "Company History" into smaller subsections? I daresay there's already more information to add, but this one section is a little text-heavy. Perhaps we can define TC Group by "era", e.g. "Before TC Group", "Founding the Group", "Acquisitions", etc. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 14:27, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi Squishy, I found some references for the two points you mentioned in your comments yesterday and added them to the relevant sections. SirPelleas (talk) 00:18, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Squishy, great suggestion about the organization of the Company History section - I took the liberty of making those formatting changes. SirPelleas (talk) 01:18, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
TC Group Today
[edit]I've heard the company has been bought by Music Group - shouldn't the page be updated to reflect this? [1] ChumPocket (talk) 13:13, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Indeed it should, ChumPocket. To be honest, we're also missing a whole bunch of information from the past 5 years, even before the takeover. It would be great if someone could find out more and then put it in the article. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 16:48, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi Squishy, hi ChumPocket - I dug up a few sources that will cover some of TC Group's more recent goings-on. Hope this helps.SirPelleas (talk) 09:28, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

Historically significant products
[edit]I've added a couple of historically significant product images, but more could be added. I think this deserves a section in its ownright, separate from the Company History. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 10:46, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
Agreed - the page could benefit from discussion of the major contributions that the companies have made to the field. Since Tannoy was one of the first companies to be part of TC Group, perhaps we could start there and then move to additions by companies added later? SirPelleas (talk) 15:20, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Nicely done - I've added information about the famous M2000 under that same section. My knowledge of TC Group products before the 90s is a little hazy, so I've gone straight into the TC Electronic stuff. Do you know anything about the products released between Tannoy and TC Electronic? Squishysquashy23 (talk) 18:16, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for that content, Squishy! And yes, I can help out here. There were a few notable products for the period between Tannoy and TC Electronic - for example, the TC Electronic Finalizer and the Stereo Chorus Flanger were developed during this time. Lab.gruppen, which TC Group acquired in 2002 through its acquisition of the UK-based TGI Group, also added an intercooler to its amps during this period as well.SirPelleas (talk) 17:00, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
I'll keep looking for other notable products produced between Tannoy and TC Electronic in the meantime. That still leaves any notable products produced after the 1990s, however. Any help would be appreciated.SirPelleas (talk) 17:05, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
I've added some newer products now. Which current products should be included? Can you find any examples of good practice from other Wiki pages representing other audio companies, to see how this should best be approached? Squishysquashy23 (talk) 10:38, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi Squishy - thanks for that. I did see a nice table of products for the audio manufacturer Heil Sound (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Heil_Sound) and think it would be worthwhile to implement something similar. SirPelleas (talk) 20:00, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
Alternatively, perhaps something more along the lines of Volkswagen would suffice (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Volkswagen_Group) - not quite as rigid and grid-like - tables can be off-putting. Thoughts? SirPelleas (talk) 01:37, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
As for products, to start out with, Lake's PLM series amplifiers should probably go in there, as the PLM 20000Q won the 2012 TEC Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement. Also, the 70-volt models of Lab.gruppen's LUCIA (new form of decentralized power system) won Best in Show at Infocomm 2015. I'll add those in, along with their awards. SirPelleas (talk) 01:37, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
Current products
[edit]I've created a new section dedicated to noteworthy current products, at least for the talk page. This should probably become its own section on the main article too. Squishysquashy23 (talk) 19:27, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
I agree with the idea of a separate section for notable current products. I'll add that. Thanks, Squishy! SirPelleas (talk) 01:29, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
