Photos
[edit]Since neither of the photos are of the Hürkuş I am wondering if they shouldn't be removed from the article. - Ahunt (talk) 00:57, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- I can't see any reason to include images of aircraft that are not the aircraft described in the article, so I will remove these. - Ahunt (talk) 13:19, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- It also turns out that the image of the KT-1 in flight was a copyright violation image taken from here. it has been tagged on Commons. - Ahunt (talk) 13:45, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Copyright violation
[edit]Most of the original text in this article was copied word-for-word (including the poor English grammar) from TURKISH PRIMARY AND BASIC TRAINER AIRCRAFT - HURKUS and TAI'S TURKISH PRIMARY AND BASIC TRAINER AIRCRAFT (HURKUS) TO BE DISPLAYED AT 47TH PARIS AIR SHOW. I have reworded it and referenced it to remove the copyright violation. - Ahunt (talk) 13:36, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

[edit]HURKUS IS A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN PROGRAM NOT AN AIRCRAFT YET; SO STOP CONVERTING IT TO A/C TEMPLATE Tolgagurcan (talk) 15:54, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
- One, please don't type in all caps - that is considered shouting.
- Two, I don't know what you think you mean by "conceptual design", but an aircraaft article on WP covers aircraft in all stages of development, even aircraft that remained designs only. In this case, the aircraft is further along in development than being just a design, per this source, with first flight expected in 2011.
- Three, much of the text you've added to the article is a copyright violation, as it is taken whole from the company page, including the sub-standard English.
- Please allow us to restore the "aircraft template" version of the page, or you may face sanctions for copyright violation. Thanks. - BilCat (talk) 16:22, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Crew number?
[edit]Video from TAI shows a 'two seater'.--76.92.123.141 (talk) 23:29, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
- The specs say "Crew: one, Capacity: one passenger" which adds up to two seats. - Ahunt (talk) 13:11, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
Derivation of PC-21 as 4th-generation training a/c
[edit]I think there should be acknowledgement that the Hurkus derives an awful lot in terms of looks, characteristics and architecture from the PC-21. It would be interesting to include discussion on the merits of what could in effect be considered an armed PC-21 where the Swiss manufacturer is clearly hobbled by their laws in this regard. Either way, the fact that TAI are 'borrowing' heavily from Pilatus should be acknowledged.

- As per WP:V we need a reliable reference that says this to include it. - Ahunt (talk) 14:27, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
In the press conferences this issue is enlightened. First of all a copy or a derivative aircraft cannot get its own licence. EACS will not give a licence. Secondly because of the aerodynamical requirements same class aircrafts must have similar looks. Pilatus PC21, Short tucano, super tucano etc all have single turboprop engine and similar configuration. But they do differ a lot in terms of cost, capabilities, avionics etc.
This is just like saying: "hey, look! all of the washing machines look the same, they are cube shaped and they have cylindrical steel drums so they are the same or copy of each other." said test pilot Murat Özpala [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.123.128.176 (talk) 15:11, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
It is notorious that the Hurkus is embarrasingly close to the Swiss Pilatus. Not only by design but in many important points. For example, the wing profile which is the real value added in term of performance. How can you prove that ? You can't it's a blatant industrial espionage. The Tucano is "inspired" by the general design of Pilatus, but it's not an espionage case. The Tai Hurkus is clearly a "Textbook" case of industrial spying. It is so obvious that some memes are stating to spread on the web. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:1210:589B:C00:D584:4C92:D991:AF66 (talk) 21:46, 26 May 2023 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
