While it is true the T20 was a big step forward it did have faults such as being prone to rust. The T250 that followed was a far better machine with more emphasis on usable mid range power, better paint and chrome. Reports of T20s doing 100mph were common at the time but the speedo of both the T20 and T250 were widely optimistic. A good standard T20 could do about 90mph and a T250 92mph(timed).In Australia production racing T20s and T250s regularly exceeded 100mph but they were not standard as the rules allowed port modifications, as long as the bike looked standard. Both bikes were well eclipsed by the slightly larger T350 (315cc) which was far more powerful especially in the midrange.
