[edit]The "Death" section incorrectly states that Moustafa and el-Sukkari were sentenced to death for her murder on May 21, 2009. In fact they were found guilty on May 21, sentencing is scheduled for June 25. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.41.166.9 (talk) 22:08, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Without being pokey on a fully personal matter like faith, she is cited as Maronite Christian in a number of sources, well...she is cited as Phoenician also, but let's leave that aside for the moment: :) Cretanforever (talk) 17:19, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- If it cannot be proved, that she was Muslim (Suzanne is rather a Christian name, isn't it?), the Category should be removed. What makes the editor so sure to claim, she was Muslim, although sources say, she was Maronite, which is very likely? -- Arne List (talk) 18:54, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
The tribe of "Tamim" is an Arab Ishmaelite. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.101.230.237 (talk) 07:36, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well in fact the name of Suzan is not only a christian name, it is a very pupolar name among Egyptian muslims for example the Egyptian first lady Suzanne Mubarak. and to be hounest me as a sculare, don't like to categorized people to christians and muslims ..etc. anyway there are arabic sources refers that she was muslim but i dont think it matters .--Elmondo21st (talk) 21:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- Suggest we remove the related category as you suggest with much eloquence. Anyway, I will write an article on her in another wikipedia before shuffling this one. Cretanforever (talk) 09:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Scotsmen do not wear skirts, they wear kilts. Just a matter of words you may say, but words are important. Peter O'Toole in The Last Emperor.
We need a photograph of her here. I tried an album cover but, as I had expected it is quickly being sent to the abyss. I came across a nice one at this link [1] but I don't know the degree of acceptability. Cretanforever (talk) 03:57, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, let her rest in peace. Her religion is not relevant, as she was not making any religious comments, did she? This is a difference from other famous singers like Fairouz. -- Arne List (talk) 08:53, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Her funeral looks muslim for me, but I can't read the words. http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-34344-5.html ! Anyway her religion might not be of importance for her personality, but it's of interest to understand Lebanese society. --79.216.129.25 (talk) 00:58, 21 August 2008 (UTC) popolfi
- I'd say her religion is totally irrelevant unless it has something to do with the motive of the killing. Any news on the motive, and why she was killed in this horrible old-fashioned way?
- well...lets not get political correct, if this is a page about her BIO than YES her religion does matter. more detail. the better.
- new information needs to be added regarding the retrial making news now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.168.86.28 (talk) 16:24, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
Conversion to Islam?
[edit]- although a reliable source cant be found...yet. Perhaps the singer's family ARE chrsitian and she converted marry to her first husband Ali Muzannar.
- This is could be likely and can explain why she has a "christian" first name that is uncommon among arab muslims, perhaps just like Diana Haddad & Mouna Ayoub whom both are Lebanese women who came from Christian families, but converted to islam to marry rich Arab moslem men. —Preceding unsigned comment added by miss-simworld (talk) 09:10, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- women do not need to convert from christianity/judaism to marry muslim men so I highly doubt this is the case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.246.160.46 (talk) 10:13, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

- yes elmondo but very rarely you have arab muslims who would name their children with a non arab first name, unless ofcorse the other parnter is not an arab . like Suzanne Mubarak's whose mother was welsh!, so that explains it with her.
- Tamim was 100% lebanese i do suspect she was a conver to islam. —Preceding miss-simworld comment added by 86.146.160.165 (talk) 14:52, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- her father's name is abd al sattar which is obviousily a muslim name, which means that she comes from a muslim family. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Altwab (talk • contribs) 09:58, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Sunni?
[edit]I think she was a sunni muslim, if true shouldn't it be added to her article? 87.101.224.234 (talk) 10:36, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
yes she was i saw her funeral —Preceding unsigned comment added by Miss-simworld (talk • contribs) 10:55, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Motive
[edit]Shouldn't the motive for her murder mentioned in the article? The article doesn't state why she was murdered, just that she was. 13:12, 30 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.19.21.57 (talk)
