Hi BT; in updating this I noticed this passage on the BC Parks page:

The Connelly Range and Hogem Ranges of the Omenica Mountains are protected in this vast wilderness area. The complex of mature, old-growth and wetland forests provide an excellent representation of the moist cold Engelmann Spruce Subalpine Fir biogeoclimatic subzone. Volcanic features such as fumaroles and basalt cliffs are found in the area.

Seems like your turf; I recall some of the features we've discussed are in this area but not sure of the exact ones; not sure also if this park deserves the WP:Volcanoes template, maybe....Skookum1 (talk) 01:58, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't even know fumaroles existed at volcanoes in Canada. Wouldn't be surprised if they mistakened them for hot springs. BT (talk) 13:19, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's no hot springs listed in that area, and maybe they're dead fumaroles, just the holes/residue....I think "The Thumb" is in that area - NE of Bear and Takla Lakes - and there's other volcanoes I remember us discussing around there.....Sounds like interesting country for a trip....look on User talk:Pfly#interesting source for a guidebook I found...not that I'm coming back anytime soon, if ever, and it's a long ways from the Lower Mainland (for you to travel to...), but......Skookum1 (talk) 16:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
