I don't know what movie your source was thinking of, but the only Music Man scene with Luckey involving both hanging and anyone kissing anyone was when her boyfriend was kissing her from the wrong side of the second floor library railing and slipped. He ended up hanging by one hand, at which point no one was kissing anybody.
