General cleanup
[edit]I've removed the following statement from the first paragraph, as it doesn't belong in an article.
The members of this community constitute about (any idea) % of the Indian population.
Anyone who can find an appropriate source can add it back into the main article (with an actual percentage, of course). --- FrankTobia (talk) 20:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Major portions of this article were copied from http://www.suryavanshiarekatik.blogspot.com/ -- this opens some copyright concerns to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.43.48.130 (talk) 22:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
I've just spent some time trying to address a few of the issues that are tagged on this article. I started by removing dead external links, adding a lead, and general wikification.
I have removed a good deal of material, mostly about the current population and surnames of the caste. It comes directly from a blog, and isn't verified. I'd rather the population info be able to stay in in some form, but first it requires a good citation. If a citation is found, the info can be relocated on the history for August 27, 2010. It's also available on the external link that I left in, the blog.
Another problem with the page is that another page exists for this traditional caste. Suryavansha has most of the info that's on this page (though not all). Perhaps it's appropriate to have one page that discusses the traditional lineage and one for the modern caste. An expert really is required here to make that decision.
I've done my best to make the remaining info clear and appropriate for an encylopedia. Lots of room for improvement still. I removed all tags except references and expert.

What is even going on, on this page, this is supposed to be a redirect, yet there's loads of content?
[edit]I'm not even sure whether this is vandalism or something else, I am actually confused, and if it is, where does it begin, and where does it end? When do I revert to? What is this article even supposed to be? This is a redirect, normally, nobody will ever see any content on this page... what is going on?! MWYAHzephyriteMWYAH (talk) 15:13, 5 March 2020 (UTC)
