Lead Citations

[edit]

This is a bit of nonsense [1]. The title of a page does not need a citation, but if there is a statement here that needs supporting, it is that Superdrug Stores plc trades as Superdrug. That citation does not resolve that issue. The reader is left guessing why a citation is required, and the primary source merely tells them a company called Superdrug Stores plc exists. Which is what the whole page is about. If we need to explain this further, it needs to be explained in the main, and cited there. There is then no need to add a citation in the lead. @Sirfurboy I only placed it in the lead as seemed an obvious place at the time. I don't mind where it's sourced as long as the information is sourced. I am aware we should generally avoid citations in the lead, so if it is sourced in the main article, that is fine. Strugglehouse (talk) 22:04, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
