WikiProject Template Discussion
[edit]No. Remove the logo. A small reference is okay, sure. And the web you're building is great. But this big UT logo has no place on a talk page.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Joe07734 (talk • contribs) 05:28, 2006 March 30 (UTC)
- But that is exactly what the template is for, to place on Talk pages. It in no way interfers with anything, and it is completely consistent with templates used by other WikiProjects. For examples, please see {{NorthAmNative}} or any of the other ones listed at The Template listing. All of these templates have gone through the proper channels for creation and use. The ones that apply to this article should be used here, including {{UTTalk}} to represent the game's origins at UT.Johntex\talk 17:49, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- On the other hand, I may have misunderstood what the article is saying. Were the game's creators (David Matuszek, Paul Reynolds, and Don Smith) at UT? Or was the game just based on another game that was created at UT? If it is the former, then I think this article definitely should be part of the UT WikiProject, since the goal of the Project includes discoveries and inventions by people at UT. If it is the latter, then just being based on an earlier game that was invented at UT may be too weak a link. Johntex\talk 18:36, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
SUPRTREK
[edit]There was also a DOS-based game in the 1980s called SUPRTREK that had real-time play and stuff like overheating engines, cloaked Romulans, black holes, etc. The game would also insult you, e.g. "Go sit on a torp!" or "First of all, you're dead, jerk!"
