Snake

Are there any screenshots of Snake available? All the other characters have images in this article, but not Snake. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 08:51, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

They all got more photos when their bios are released. Some new ones will be released soon. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 08:53, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
^By soon you mean already, right.(the bio for SSnaske[not typo]was up when you posted.)Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz
Date entries please. Well how should I have known, it was 8am. Never awake. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 12:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Just saying the bio was up.(I like not dating my messages)Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 20:27, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

I added a picture of Snake onto the Screenshots section. Red Alien 21:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

References?

Um....where exactly did the references go? Not a single page in the history section has it on there...what's going on? Also, someone did this: "==Music== --> =Music="...what the crap is going on?

And I forgot to sign this, I was about to do it when you did it. XDSukecchi 13:34, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
I have no idea, I think something must be up with that stupid long ref thing. Hmm. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 13:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
The old ref/note version works, (I tried it) so we could wait or convert back. Thoughts? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 13:37, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Link's Image

Why did this image of the different versions of Link http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Image:Linkcomparison6sa.jpg got taken off the article ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.213.17.217 (talkcontribs) .

Because every image in this article is copyrighted, so we have to obey the laws of fair use. It may be a nice picture, but it really wasn't benefitting the article. One is all we need. Oh, and please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:03, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
That and...::Because we didn't need it. We had a discussion about too many images and we all decided that we only needed one. So Mario got to stay and the rest went. We drastically decreased the amount of images in this article.Sukecchi 19:05, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Considered Characters

Section 2 seems full of fan speculation. Was there any online poll that Sakurai released? Doesn't look like there are any new sources...--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 21:17, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Speaking of which... anyway, as I said, I know where this info (well, most of it) was pulled from, but still find it unnecessary myself as stated below. --HeroicJay 21:21, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
Though I have seen reference to this before and know how to find it again (though it's in Japanese), is it really necessary? I doubt that even half of those characters are going to be in the final version of the game, personally, and many characters reported on that list aren't mentioned in this article. Citation template or no, I'm removing it. --HeroicJay 21:20, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
There is a poll. Just note there is one, but don't go into speculation. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:27, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Meta Knight and Pit voice actors

So, I just heard that Meta Knight and Pit will be voiced by Atsushi Kisaichi (who voiced him in the anime) and Minami Takayama, respectively [1]. Can anyone who can read Japanese verify it here? Pikawil 00:40, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

From Google Translate (which does a horrible job at Japanese machine translation), it looks like that is a discussion forum or comments about some article. Probably not an incredibly reliable information source. *shrug* -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 02:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
We all know that machine translators do crap. We need a human translator! Pikawil 06:36, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Arr, I'm just saying that from what I gather, it's a discussion board. I don't think they count as a reputable source, even if you can translate them correctly :) -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:36, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, just found a more official reponse [2]. Basically, someone was translating Sakurai's messages on that discussion board. #181-190 mentions that "Pit's Japanese voice actor also plays Conan from Detective Conan"... Pikawil 15:29, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Beam Whip vs. Ray Gun

There is a silly revert war going back and forth about the image of Zero Suit Samus with a certain weapon in her hand. It does actually appear to be the whip form, judging from the video. Why are the edits mentioning that being reverted? -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:52, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Because do we have evidence it's in whip form? I think the whip form will be more elaborate, which isn't the point. We don't know if it's in whip mode, we know it's her ray gun. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 08:30, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Um, it's clearly in whip form. The official website says it turns into a whip. Since Samus's gun doesn't do that in Zero Mission, it's quite easy to assume that when she flips it up and a BEAM WHIP comes out of it, then it's in beam whip form, which is further backed up by the fact that at that moment in the trailer, she swings the WHIP at Pit. This is so silly and ridiculous because it's painfully obvioius that it's in whip form.--Claude 09:18, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Personally, the first time I saw the trailer I thought it was a Beam Saber. The beam doesn't move like a whip at all.. of course.. how is a beam whip supposed to move in the first place..? Anyway, I don't think it should be said that it's in Whip form, because although it may be painfully obvious that it is, there's no confirmation on it. - Zero1328 Talk? 09:32, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Compromise: "Beam sword/whip mode"? --Sparky Lurkdragon 09:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Plus, yeah, that doesn't seem to be her gun from Zero Mission. The ZM gun is, in Samus' words, her "rather useless emergency pistol" - it's just a stun gun of some sort. --Sparky Lurkdragon 09:44, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
As I said, the video shows it clearly. She points the gun upright, pushes a button or something, and a large beam extends from it. It's at that moment that this screenshot was taken. She then goes to whip it around a bit, proving that it is indeed in "whip mode" or "beam sword" mode. The website does say it transforms into a whip, and the movement of the beam in the video seems more whip-like than sword-like. Is the text of the website's character bio, and the video itself, not confirmation enough? -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 17:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
That is all speculation. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:14, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
As I asked, how is it speculation? This is a comment on a screenshot taken from the video that we're talking about. The screenshot is from the point in the video when the Ray Gun clearly spouts a whip-like beam (have you watched it?). The character bio confirms that the ray gun turns into a whip. I made none of that up, hence none of it is speculation. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 17:16, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I concur. It's in whip mode. I wouldn't say this, except that the image is from the trailer, and in that scene it is unmistakably in whip mode in the trailer. --HeroicJay 17:39, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

It is speculation that the form of the gun you are referring to is the whip mode. Likely, yes. Confirmed, no`. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 17:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Likely, as in as likely as if I showed you a video of a trained swordsman swinging a steel blade and called it a "sword" on the caption (but without the swordman actually calling it that). -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 17:46, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
But this is a game with unconfirmed details. That is different. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:03, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I genuinely don't see the point you're trying to make here. How does Samus swinging what appears to be a whip, when it is a known fact that she swings a whip, and us calling it a whip constitute "speculation"? As they say, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck... especially when there's a fact sheet that says "there is a duck here." --HeroicJay 18:07, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
The detail that some are not seeing is that the official web site confirms its a whip. Seriously, this is the exact sentence:
Also, her gun transforms and can be used as a whip.
HighwayCello, I see perfectly where you're coming from, but the Dojo itself is backing this. Go on, see for yourself [3].--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 20:40, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I'd still like a shot on the official site saying "Samus with ray-gun in whip form." I just think we should stick with concrete facts. So far we know -

  • Samus's arm blaster converts into a ray gun
  • The ray gun has a whip and gun form
  • The whip is the primary form
  • Samus is seen with her gun in some form in the screenshot.

Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

That is not all we know. You forgot:
  • That image comes straight from the trailer video.
  • In that scene in the trailer video, Samus swings around her "gun".
  • In that same scene, the energy beam coming out of the gun moves in a way that resembles a whip.
Have you even watched the trailer? --HeroicJay 22:00, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
The last one is the problem. You are assuming. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, we know there is a duck, and yet I think it's an armadillo. With all due respect, that's kinda what that argument sounds like. --HeroicJay 22:13, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not questioning the probability it is the whip, but we don't know. Nothing's been confirmed. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
No, wait, here's a better parallel. Meta Knight holds something sharp and pointy, and the official site says he uses a sword. Would it be "speculation" that the object seen in Meta Knight's hand is a sword, or do you want confirmation on that as well? --HeroicJay 22:18, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
EDIT CONFLICT?! Well... that was weird. Never works like that on the Homestar Runner Wiki... --HeroicJay 22:19, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

We know what a sword looks like! Sharp and pointy as you said. Have you ever seen what a ray-gun transforming whip looks like? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:21, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I know what a whip looks like and have a fairly good idea of what it looks like when one moves. --HeroicJay 22:24, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Forget it. I don't care anymore, just leave the caption as speculation, I do not care. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 22:39, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if you care or not. You've been outvoted by the community, the fact that Samus' gun turns into a whip in the video, and the fact that the site says her gun changes into a whip. Therefore, it is in whip mode. This is not speculation. This is fact.--Claude 23:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
OK HighwayCello, just so you know the OFICIAL website (Dojo) does say it is a whip. Saying that is speculation IS pretty akin to saying MetaKnight holds a pointy sharp object. PS Edit Conflicts are Wierd, I have literally had Three in the past week! PSS HighwayCello, how do we know Samus's arm cannon turns to a blaster. I've nevr heard that before(not saying it isnt true).Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 14:07, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Rex's hanger?

It is mentioned in the article. I don't play much metal gear, but that looks like a pretty generic metal gear background, probably not a specific place.

Anyone think it should be deleted? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.64.223.203 (talkcontribs) .

It should be deleted.(actually I'm deleting it right now if its still there)Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz

Any Fire Emblem Characters?

I know it's probably too early to ask, but does anybody know if a character from the Fire Emblem series will appear? Even if it's only the return of Roy and Marth, does anyone know? --DcPimp 15:07, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Nope. Too early to tell. Pikawil 15:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Back! Return to thy spammity forum from wence you came! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 15:10, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Whence. Ah, the forumers...--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 20:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I bet Marth will reappear(If he doesnt I will be realy PO'd) and Roy probably(gasp I wrote the word probably) be back too.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 13:57, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
WTF is HighwayCello talking about? Something about spam or something...did I read that right? --DcPimp 14:08, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
HighwayCello is talking about how all these editors are discussing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, instead of the article about it. "Return to thy (your) spammity (spam-filled) forum from whence you came (where you came from." Really, about 10% of the discussions here are turning to what characters people want.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 05:14, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Smash Snake

The new snake is referenced to as Smash Snake in a response on the Japanese webpage... So it's not Solid Snake this time around. It's a new one designed specifically for the new Smash Bros. --Luigifan13 20:07, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Look at solid, and smash. They look similar, so an error could have crept in translation, and it's only a fansite, so we can't gurantee anything. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Words for Solid in japanese: soriddo, kenrou, tegatai, katai, joubu, kenjitsu.
Words for Smash in japanese: sumasshu.....Yeahh they don't look too similar. The whole thing would have to be mistranslated in that case >.> And it's a translation from the official japanese website, so.. --Luigifan13 20:20, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
How about we just put Snake since that's all there is on the Official Site. No Solid, no Smash, no nothing. Just Snake.Sukecchi 20:35, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Until I see it on the Smash Bros. sight, I won't believe anything. And I meant in English, a tired, square eyed Japanese teenager might not notice the difference between one flick. And they could call him something else over there! And it's a fan site! Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:39, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Ummm, in the way of translations, don't you suppose that he could have appended "Smash" to Snake's name just to signify that he's part of Smash Brothers? Like saying "Mario Bros. 2 Luigi takes longer to come to a stop". Clearly, Mario Bros. 2 isn't part of Luigi's name. Hmmm? -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 03:32, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
"The unexpected participant from Metal Gear Solid!" - Straight from smashbros.com. I'm assuming that means he's the Snake from Metal Gear Solid, eh? --Guess Who 04:18, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
^You havent played MGS have you?^ (not insulting I just suspect it) I would be VERY happy if the characer is Solid Snake with Naked(unlikely) and Liquid being alternate costumes(al la Peach/Daisy).Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 12:39, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

New Characters and Removals confirmed

Before you read, THIS IS FACT. THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY SAKURAI BY HIMSELF. DO NOT DELETE!

Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed the following names to appear in Nintendo's upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl via interview with Tokyo's popular "The Gaming Exchange" radio show:

New Faces:

  • KOOPA KID,
  • RIDLEY,
  • WIND WAKER LINK

Removed Faces:

  • ICE CLIMBERS,
  • MR. GAME & WATCH,
  • YOUNG LINK

Sakurai also confirmed that the existing "clones" from SSBM will be reworked as entirely seperate characters (Contradicting what we said earlier). One should also note that Young Link isn't being replaced entirely, rather simply replaced with the cel-shaded Link from Wind Waker. His name on the selection screen will still read "Young Link". Sakurai stated Game & Watch and the Ice Climbers will be removed due to the lack of general fan interest and that he decided to include Kid Icarus' Pit as a replacement to the Ice Climbers for those old school fans of the NES. He mentioned Pit will likely be the only classic character included. Sakurai did not mention wether Ridley would be in his original form or his new "Meta-Ridley" form from Metroid Prime. Also of importance is the fact that, according to Sakurai, the roster will be "between 30 and 40", leaving room for about 15 newcomers or so. In addition, there will be only be "one or two more" 3rd party characters.--NintendoTheatre 18:21, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Sounds interesting if sourced (HINT HINT HINT; I WILL remove it if you don't provide a source and I don't see one myself), but "Koopa Kid"? Do they mean the character from the Mario Party series that resembles Bowser Jr.? The actual Bowser Jr.? Multiple costumes that represent Iggy, Larry, Morton, etc.? --HeroicJay 23:36, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
And this is the newest topic, so leave it on the bottom! --HeroicJay 23:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
No source, I am doubtful. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:43, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I'll move it, oh and he means Bowser Jr. In the interview he states the goop paintbrush and talked about how it would be used as his primary weapon apparantly.--NintendoTheatre 23:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Wonderful, but about a source? --HeroicJay 23:46, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
That's what I want too. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:49, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I got this from smashboards.com. A member there listened to it on air and translated, it is under "Brawl Character Discussion". Also, it has been posted on every other forum since then including Nsider--NintendoTheatre 23:42, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I smell a Rattata. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:49, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I don't even see the thread in question. And it's not mentioned by anyone on GameFAQs. I suspect this is a hoax. --HeroicJay 23:52, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, must be a hoax because they don't specify WHICH Koopa Kid... and I can see Young Link getting the axe but removing the Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch but not a certain joke character and a costume for Mario that has its own slot? There's something funny here. Oh, and before I go, I remember seeing that on Gamefaqs a week or two ago, word-by-word... Pikawil 23:53, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

I have deleted the section for now, I'd rather the article was slow on news than misleading. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 23:57, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

The enthusiasm of those working on this article humors me. 64.40.63.76 00:04, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

We've got spirit! Let's accuse it of speculation and Delete! Ra, ra... ra. - Yeah ; ) Highway Rainbow Sneakers 00:05, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Um, was I not reading that correctly, or did you say RIDLEY was going to appear? Please say yes. Oh, PLEASE say yes! --DcPimp 02:43, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Don't get too excited. This is a rumor. Nothing more. We have no evidence at this time that any character besides the nine/ten that appeared in the trailer video are going to be in this game. --HeroicJay 02:48, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Awh, you ruined my fun. I'm sort of embarassed to admit it, but I'm probably the biggest fan Ridley's got. Guess I've played too much Metroid. --DcPimp 02:53, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
I'd have expected this to surface on some official sites by now if it were true, but there isn't so much as a link to go with it. I think Ridley is probable since Sakurai has expressed interest in adding more Metroid characters, but the ones that are being taken out makes no sense.--Claude 05:08, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Ridley wouldn't be fair, his size outways all other components. I'm guessing it'll be Dark Samus or a new characters, perhaps Adam in human form from Fusion. And it is an improbable rumour. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 09:35, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Nooooooooo. C'mon HighwayCello, I thought you were logical. Ridley isn't too big, he can be resized like Bowser(did you see him in the Melee opening? He's prolly a few inches taller than Samus in it.) and powered down like Mewtwo. Also PLEASE state a definte source, if this is true it will make my week.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 13:52, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Have you even looked at how big some of Bowser's forms are in the Mario series? They are way bigger than Ridley, yet he's a Smash Bro.. The only reason he looks big is the 2D games. Meta Ridley isn't very big at all. Anyways, the Dark Samus suggestion sounds reasonable, but I'm not buying the Adam theory for a minute. A human Adam would be messing around with the Metroid timeline too much. --DcPimp 13:51, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Wait the poster is a new user! *sob*(actualy sobbing not saying SOB) This =prolly hoax.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 13:54, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Huh? What are talkin' about? --DcPimp 13:57, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Forums with you ;) We're discussing the possibilites. I really want Bulbasaur, dodgy as it seems. He could have a charged Solarbeam attack, and Headbutt for a normal attack, and Razor Leaf for projectiles. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:02, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Apologies for my spammish post above, this probably is a hoax. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:02, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Darn it! I've been waiting for Ridley since the first Smash Bros..... can we call that vandalism? --DcPimp 14:13, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and why would you want Bulbasaur to appear? I can understand the starting Pokemon that walk on two legs, but Bulbasaur? I ain't buying it. --DcPimp 14:14, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Pichu and Pikachu run, why couldn't Bulbasaur? Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:26, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah. I didn't play as them much, so I almost forgot they were characters. Anyways, Bulbasaur doesn't look really likely. On the other hand.... --DcPimp 14:30, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

On the other hand, let's stop the forum chat and back to editting! : D Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:32, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

What's left to edit? What, we ain't just talking about this article anymore, are we? --DcPimp 14:36, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
In general, edit. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 14:46, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Someone on gamefaqs posted this saying it was a newsletter from Smashduck (whatever that is), then later posted an apology saying they found out it was a hoax. Xubelox 21:22, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

There you go, decision closed. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:28, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Now, I don't have a source for it (and come to think of it I can't remember where I originally found it - I'll try and retrace my steps), but I'm only trying to help and wonder whether a) anyone else has seen it, and b) if anyone else can trace it back to its original source. I don't think it's appeared on the English version of the Smash Bros. Dojo website, but is there any reference to it on the Japanese version of the website? Sorry for the lack of information regarding it... --Zooba 00:39, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Nope, that's pretty fake looking. "Chibi Robo"? Come on. "Advance Wars infantry men"? Nooo. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 00:44, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm agreeing with HighwayCello. That list has a lot of characters that nobody would give a crap about. Besides, it had a Chain Chomp on the list. There's almost no way a Chain Chomp could work. And quit getting my hopes up about Ridley and Ike. --DcPimp 01:05, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm not trying to trick anyone. I found this list on the internet, and was wondering what people thought about it. I was just trying to help. Sorry if I've done something wrong by having good intentions. Jeeze... such cynical attitudes. --Zooba 01:08, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
While it still doesn't belong here, that list is a translation of the submissions on the Japanese Dojo Site.Sukecchi 01:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Submissions? What? I'm lost again. --DcPimp 01:26, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
On the Japanese version of the Dojo site, Japanese fans are being asked to submit character ideas. That list is a translation of it.Sukecchi 01:32, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh yeah. I thought some of those release dates were a little early, and Japan get most video games before us. So....those are the most recurring ideas? --DcPimp 01:37, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I've seen that list before, and even though I think it's probably real, I still think many of the entries are really silly. Link's unnamed uncle?! Generic Mario baddies?! Bow Wow?! Fortunately, I don't think that most of the entries are actually going to be in the game. --HeroicJay

Yeah, the majority of them are pretty stupid. A couple of them could make it, though. (Yes, I'm still praying for Ridley) Let's see....

  • Isaac
  • Felix
  • Krystal
  • Wolf O'Donnell
  • Any of the Fire Emblem characters

And if you really stretch it:

  • Megaman

These are the only ones I could tell have any chance at making the game. --DcPimp 02:15, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Yo, uh, that list included Ganondorf. He's already a Smash Bro. You don't think they've axed the Gan Man, now do ya? --DcPimp 02:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
What? Not Diddy Kong? In my eyes, he's a shoo-in. Heck, his utter lack of trophy (despite Dixie and K. Rool getting trophies) in Melee makes me very strongly suspect that he was axed as a PC in the eleventh hour (maybe due to the beginning of the end of their relationship with Rare?) but that's purely speculation on my part. --HeroicJay 03:26, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Wow, some of those entries are just ridiculous...way too many generic baddies thrown in there.--Claude 04:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Nothing about this list is concrete. Yes, maybe they're being considered, but other than that, we don't know anything about the probability of them appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 05:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

Here's the site where they're from: http://www.smashbros.com/jp/toukou/bn/index.html So yes, it's an official list of those Sakurai has at least considered, and nothing more. Xubelox 09:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

When they say Ganon/Ganondorf they probably mean his pig transformation. Odama2 15:09, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

FWIW, reading this list you will see a lot of entries that also make appearances in SSBM in the form of trophies, not that it means anything Chapparal 16:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Diddy Kong is certainly very unlikely. I think Diddy Kong is Rare(ware) and Rare was sold to Microsoft. It would sorta be like wanting Banjo and/or Kazooie from BK/BT. -86.12.235.7 19:02, 5 June 2006 (UTC) (Will be getting an account (Dinoshaur) soon.)

Em, then why was he in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!? He's first party. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:06, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

I was reading K.K. Slider, and K.K. showed up as a "possible SSBB character". Is this correct? Clorox MUN Goatse Virgin ONS (talk/fortune cookie) 21:58, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Im glad someone stated Megaman was the number 1 sugjested character (Do not delete this).

ssbb hidden playable people

What Hidden Characters Might Be On Super Smash Brothers Brawl? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hmr (talkcontribs) .

We aren't a forum. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 10:59, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
We dont know what ones will be hidden. But most of the hidden characters from Melee will prolly still be hiddenQwerasdfzxcvvcxz 12:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
There's nothing to suggest that.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 16:31, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I think Jigglypuff will be the first to unlock though, Nimrod1234 16:51, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
And I think that we're drifting from the point that this isn't a forum. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:25, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
You know, we've got to add some sort of notice at the top of the page that clearly states that this isn't a forum or place to discuss the game itself, because way too many discussions here are turning to forum discussions.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:04, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
I'll ask at the Help Desk if such a thing already exists. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 19:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
It already exists. See this (emphasis mine):

The purpose of a talk page is to help to improve the contents of the article in question. Questions, challenges, excised text (due to truly egregious confusion or bias, for example), arguments relevant to changing the text, and commentary on the main page are all fair play.

Wikipedians generally oppose the use of talk pages just for the purpose of partisan talk about the main subject. Wikipedia is not a soapbox; it's an encyclopedia. In other words, talk about the article, not about the subject. It's only the habits we encourage that keep Wikipedia from turning into a slanging match.

That should be enough. I believe it is fair to just delete threads that don't talk about the article but about the subject (happened a lot when the Wii name was announced. -- ReyBrujo 19:17, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I know, but I doubt that everybody is going to read that. Putting a large notice at the top of this page itself, where every person who's going to discuss the subject itself can see, would probably help. Or, we can just do what ReyBrujo said and delete threats that discuss mainly the subject.--The Ninth Bright Shiner talk 19:30, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz, he's FOR Wikipidia talk pages being slightly forumish.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 20:27, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Well... sorry, but they're not supposed to be. Try GameFAQs if you want forums. --Sparky Lurkdragon 04:12, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Surely you did not just point someone to the GameFAQs forums? That, my friend, is cruel and inhumane. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 04:22, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Eh, they're funny to watch, at any rate. ;) Okay, a specialty site would probably be a better idea if you seriously want to talk about a game, but let's get back to talking about the article here, huh?--Sparky Lurkdragon 04:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Screenshots

Why does it seem like the number of screenshots in the article was once a lot bigger? If we have the screenshots, why aren't we using them all? --DcPimp 00:08, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Because an overload of screenshots isn't a good thing and can distract from the main part of the article (which is the text/information). But yes, there used to be a lot more. - Joshua368 03:28, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Uh, okay. --DcPimp 12:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

This article states that Raichu is playable as Pikachu's Super Smash and that Sonic is in. I highly doubt these, and I won't believe it until I see a link. RememberMe? 20:30, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that webpage looks a lot to me like the Japanese Super Smash Bros. Dojo Forum section. Even as rudimentary a translator as Google Language Tools revealed that the multiple posts on the webpage were made by people with different "nicknames". Each message also had a "contribution theme", which was the same for each post on the page (read: message subject). So, sorry, but your "evidence" is just fan speculation. But, at the same time, I hope you're right about Sonic!
In case you want to see the rudimentarily-translated webpage, which comes out mostly as gibberish with no mention of Raichu or Sonic (to my knowledge), follow this link: [4] Keith Davies Lehwald 23:31, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Brawl vs. Dojo

The article itself is called SSB Brawl, but I see many parts of the article calling it SSB Dojo. Which is it? (ip address)

Dojo is the name of the Site. Any Dojos need changed to Brawl.Sukecchi 20:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

It said in this article that Raichu and Sonic was a character. Anyone know who added that?

That's just the CONSIDERED character list!!! --HeroicJay 21:04, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

No, my friend speaks fluent japanese (He moved to america when he was 9) and says in this article that Sakurai states the Raichu model was being developed and unavailable, as a response to a pokemon-related question209.139.23.31 21:06, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

That's known to be a fan-submitted considered character list. Another link to it can be found above. Even on the off chance that Raichu is mentioned (something I've not heard myself) that doesn't mean anything. --HeroicJay 21:08, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Fine, take it out. When the game comes out, well see whos right. but for now lets put this thing to rest 209.139.23.31 21:10, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Actually, now that I think about it, since the progression has gone Pikachu-> Pichu, I wouldnt be suprised if they changed Raichu into a whole ne character 209.139.23.31 21:13, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Still the CONSIDERED character list. There is nothing that says that those characters will be in the game. --HeroicJay 21:05, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

No, Sakurai says absolutely nothing in that article. That is a considered character list, everything there is what japanese fans have sent in. Your friend lied. Kamek24 22:14, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Cool it. Whether Raichu is or isn't in this game is utter speculation at this point, so keep cool and stop the protection malarky, it doesn't get nearly enough vandalism. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:17, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

I can't find either Pikachu (ピカチュウ) or Raichu (ライチュウ) on that page. Plus, the page seems to be mainly speculative. A Babelfish translation on the page was useless (although it raised a smile when it translated some info about Samus Aran as "because with the woman groovy キャラ it is サムス with ダントツ, you expect it is secretly...having come out of メトロイド, the sushi.") smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 21:27, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
The top entry contains "brother", "arriving", "princess" and "bounty" I think. My converter is somewhat shaky. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:34, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
This is just me, but shouldn't we drop the whole Raichu argument? After all, this idiot keeps adding the same thing text over and over again. Furthermore, we're turning into a forum again. Didn't you guys just change the way things work on this page? --DcPimp 23:44, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
This is discussion. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 07:12, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh. Well, whatever it is, it does kinda look like foruming. So...anybody find any proof about Raichu yet? --DcPimp 12:36, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Metroid Prime Hunters

Anyone here think Nintendo should add at least 1 of the hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters?

What part of THIS IS NOT A FORUM do you people not understand?Sukecchi 02:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Woah, sorry about that. Didn't know.
Given how bad the forum problem has become, why don't we post an additional warning besides the few we already have? We already have two, but one is sort of small, and the other isn't positioned correctly. Maybe a big "Warning: Comments unrelated to the article will be removed" sign or something will keep them away. Uh, does anything like that exist? --DcPimp 03:01, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
