Real Name
[edit]I provided her real name [redacted] but someone removed saying IMDB was not a reliable source. I have provided another source. (now 2 sources total) 2 sources is more than enough I feel, but please do not remove again, but instead tag it for "more sources needed" if someone feels 2 isn't enough. (or, alternatively, provide links to something that says her real name is something else) (Cardsplayer4life 19:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC))
- There are various reasons why IMDb itself isn't a reliable resource. It's really a secondary or tertiary resource, like Wikipedia -- and like Wikipedia, we should never ourselves be considered a primary reference or self-reference ourselves. As for the other link you've provided, it doesn't seem to load for me right at the moment... However, the source isn't as definitive as, say, AVN or even Luke Ford. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 19:17, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, sounds good. There has to be a reference to her real name somewhere, though. Just about all the porn stars have references to their real name in their wikipedia entries. Oh, and the second link appears to not be functioning any more for some odd reason; Here is the link to the cache of it. (Cardsplayer4life 21:19, 9 September 2007 (UTC))
- I've dealt with this before - I wouldn't go near publishing the real name unless it appears in multiple reliable sources (or at least one single ultra-reliable source, like the New York Times or something similar.) I sometimes get direct correspondence from these article subjects in my picture-obtaining work, and you wouldn't believe some of the stories they've told me about stalkers, etc. There are some scary people out there. By the way, IMDB specifically disclaims the accuracy of their bio data, I think I can find the link to the disclaimer if someone needs it. Videmus Omnia Talk 21:26, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh ok, well I certainly do not want anyone to be stalked or otherwise in danger. I just thought it would add to the article; I apologize if I was too hasty in my assessment. (Cardsplayer4life 21:35, 9 September 2007 (UTC))

- Irrelevant and incoherent. "multiple reliable sources": You invented a personal rule. Non-porno performers have also experienced stalking, but we don't keep their real names secret. This is special pleading. 2603:7000:B23E:33EE:153D:9EA9:787D:86F1 (talk) 07:33, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Or at least one single ultra-reliable source
. This is fully consistent with WP:BLPPRIVACY. Whether non-porno performers have also experienced stalking is irrelevant. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 09:15, 20 February 2023 (UTC)- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:BLPPRIVACY
- I just read that page, and nothing in it is relevant to what you claimed. Your claim is a non sequitur. 2603:7000:B23E:33EE:3941:8D0F:F4C6:4F34 (talk) 13:53, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- Per WP:BLPPRIVACY:
Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources
. See also WP:EXCEPTIONAL:Any exceptional claim requires multiple high-quality sources.
—Sangdeboeuf (talk) 16:15, 21 February 2023 (UTC) - Per WP:BLPNAME:
When deciding whether to include a name, its publication in secondary sources other than news media, such as scholarly journals or the work of recognized experts, should be afforded greater weight than the brief appearance of names in news stories.
—Sangdeboeuf (talk) 16:17, 21 February 2023 (UTC)- IP, it says "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public." How is that not relevant here? Drmies (talk) 16:20, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

Birth Date
[edit]This explains why she does not make it available. For BLP, it's better to leave the omission than to be incorrect with a 'fact' tag. the_undertow talk 23:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, I'm content to leave it omitted for now, since it doesn't appear to come from a valid source outside of the IAFD and IMDB. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 23:35, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's good to see administrators spending their free time to made sure biographies of up-and-coming porn stars are accurate and adhere to guidelines. :] the_undertow talk 23:41, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Skater / Olympic trials?
[edit]This story really doesn't hold water (or ice). She supposedly went into dancing to make money after bunion surgery stopped her from being able to skate.
- Wouldn't bunion surgery also interfere with dancing? Even if "dancing" was limited to walking around on stage, it's still walking around.
- How did being prevented from skating create a need for money? Was she being *paid* for skating? Wouldn't it be the other way around? If she couldn't skate, it seems like she'd *save* the money she was spending on coaching, rink time, etc.
- If she started dancing in 2004, she presumably was skating in preparation for the Olympic trials until that year, or possibly 2003. The next winter Olympics weren't until 2006. The US trials were held December 27-31, 2005 (in Salt Lake City). Whatever bunion surgery she had two years earlier wouldn't have stopped her from participating in the trials. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.16.3.50 (talk) 20:06, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
