Liam Lawlor Controversy

[edit]

Does not quite show how the editorial staff willfully printed the inaccurate version because they claimed that they needed to print the City edition on the (Sunday)Saturday* and that there was not enough time to change it because of tight deadlines. It was well known in Dublin at 2 pm that she was not a prostitute and therefore they had plenty of time to change the inaccuracies but chose not to. 15:04, 20 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.200.200 (talk)

  • The city edition of the Sunday Independent is printed on the Saturday. So it was known at 2pm on the Saturday that it was printed that she was not a prostitute (Or Sunday Independent Journalist as they are known in Ireland) yet they chose not to acknowledge that fact. This is the asterixed part refered to up there.18:09, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

The Sunday Independent edition of 23 October (which was first published on Saturday) published a story on its front page,

suggested addition to help fully explain the controversy. they had ample opportunity to get the story correct but chose not to for sensationalist reasons. <--- That part is not NPOV so should be alluded to and not explicitly written. 10:14, 9 April 2009 (UTC)~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.43.110.186 (talk)

"Reproachful" towards John Hume?

[edit]

Comedy gold, right there. The Sunday Independent launched a sustained, relentless demonisation of that man for the "crime" of talking with Gerry Adams. Hume's judgement was impeccable. The Sunday Independent has never had the dignity to apologise for the character assassination on that honourable Irishman. The least Wikipedia could do is stop allowing Harris/Fanning propagandists dress this up as something it wasn't. 37.228.205.224 (talk) 08:48, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
