[edit]

As per my recent edit, there are currently two concurrent versions of the story of Sugar Minott's career on the main article page. Can someone with better knowledge of the subject than I, please attempt to merge the two.

I've combined the two versions into one. It stills needs some tidying, and some references.--Michig 20:13, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As is often the case with such text dumps, it was a copyvio of a file on the Internet dated 2002, and added to the article in 2005: http://niceup.com/artists/sugar_minott Hellosandimas 03:54, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sugar Minott Dead

[edit]

I am informed that the singer passed away on July 10th, 2010 after an illness of 2-3 months. After editing the singer's details on wikipedia, I see that they have been removed with the suggestion that it is 'just an internet blog rumour'??

Can anyone elaborate? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandtplatt (talkcontribs) 13:29, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source confirming his death? If not, it doesn't belong in the article. Thanks.--Michig (talk) 13:59, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Google News doesn't show reliable sources reporting his death. If and when newspapers, etc. report it we add it to the article. Someone telling you he's dead isn't enough.--Michig (talk) 14:04, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:RS for what would be considered a reliable source. lalate.com doesn't look good enough.--Michig (talk) 14:37, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

News reports are on google that this singer is dead. This is enough information for an update on the singer's entry in wikipedia. This is NOT a case of 'someone telling me' he is dead. I understand your procedure but in this case at any rate the article has now been updated accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mandtplatt (talkcontribs) 17:23, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are no reports on Google from reliable sources. Until his death is confirmed by reliable sources, the recent additions are premature and extremely distasteful. Show some respect and wait until we can confirm this for certain.--Michig (talk) 17:52, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
