Spelling

[edit]

I have noticed articles about style sheets have it spelt as one word (stylesheet) and two words (style sheet). Which one is correct? Or is one correct in one context, and the other in other contexts?

I am pretty sure that it is two words, as they only talk about the w3c style sheet language which according to w3c is two words. http://www.w3.org/Style/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.210.193.246 (talk) 02:42, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I consider two words as being correct. I still have yet to alter the title to two words, too. How's that for using all those forms in the previous sentence? Detroit 20:11, 21 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Style Sheet is a Programming Language?

[edit]

A style sheet language or style language, is a computer language used to describe the presentation of structured documents.

I really disagree with that. "A computer programming language is a language[3] used to write computer programs, which involve a computer performing some kind of computation[4] or algorithm"

You can't make any algorithm in a style sheet language.

It's still a "Language", but not a "Programming Language" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Santiagobasulto (talkcontribs) 13:26, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Syntax Example

[edit]

Sorry, but I don't understand the example. A brief description of what the example means would be a great help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.173.165.130 (talk) 13:43, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other style sheet languages

[edit]

I believe this article should mention other style sheet languages than CSS (at least mention and wikilink to them, it doesn't have to describe them). A source for other style sheet languages could be "Chapter 3: Style sheets prior to the web" and "Chapter 4: Style sheet proposals for the web" in the referenced PhD thesis "Cascading Style Sheets" by Håkon Wium Lie. Another inspiration of languages to mention could be Category:Stylesheet languages. I don't currently have the energy to do this, but I hope someone else will pick up on this suggestion. --Jhertel (talk) 14:07, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
