Length
[edit]Well, this article is painfully short. I'm decieded to do a major re-haul of this article over the weekend, featuring actual models of the stylewriter. Any help is appreciated. You can contact me by my AIM client handle: wCoolFox. --CoolFox 17:32, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)
- I was thinking about how to format this article. I'm thinking of the format I did for the recently expanded AlphaSmart article that did. Basicly starting with some some of the backround, then for each model, give the design elements, features, and possibly specs if I can get my hands on them. Each model will have its own sub section [or sub-sub section if deemed appropriate]. I was also thinking of separating the models by their printing type (color, or b/w). If anyone can help me with specifactions, that would be most appreciated. --CoolFox 18:51, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC)
Disambiguation
[edit]There is no Wikipedia article for the StyleWriter software (http://www.stylewriter-usa.com/) which is what I was originally looking for. 204.186.126.183 (talk) 16:29, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
" In Commemoration of 1 million style writers ' reversible jacket
[edit]we found a reversible commemorative jacket for 1 million printers in 2012 https://www.reddit.com/r/VintageApple/comments/3q8pgx/found_rare_canon_apple_jacket_in_commemoration/ https://www.facebook.com/cnet/posts/844756132303844
i can't find any information on who this jacket was made for or how many jackets were made. I'm still waiting to hear back from Apple and/or Canon Public Relations — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.204.172.127 (talk) 23:03, 25 March 2016 (UTC)
Limited fonts is wrong
[edit]"The StyleWriter could print in four different font families: Times, Helvetica, Courier, and Symbol.[1]"
I believe that's wrong, and based on a misunderstanding. Unlike most printers of the time the StyleWriter did NOT have a built in character generator (and also lacked the imagining processor of today's printers). Instead the host computer imaged the page internally (using Quickdraw) and sent the printer a bitmap image of the page. Hence the printer could print whatever fonts were installed on the host computer. Antifesto (talk) 00:32, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
