An actual civilization, stygia?
[edit]I remember while I was going through some of the ancient Hebrew or Jewish scriptures and legends there was a few mentions of encounters with an army bearing the name of stygian. I believe it may have been in the legends of Elijah, or possibly the wall of the Ameorites to the north that held back the Magogites from slaughtering the Amalekites and Meadites once long, long, ago.
