Opening comment
Are those photos relyl germane to the subject matter? :P The Land 10:09, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Got rid of the pictures, not as a prude or whatever but because they don't really relate to the subject matter except that they are of people in various states of undress. Evil Monkey∴Hello 08:57, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
- Okay, the photos are gone. The game pic is a totally different issue that neither of the above posters have commented on, and no one has bothered commenting on negatively on this talk page, or even in the edit comments where they were removing the pics. --Prosfilaes 21:29, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Image of Game
Anyone have any idea why Anons keep deleting the image of the game? I have no objection to it. --Noitall 05:15, August 14, 2005 (UTC)
- Neither do I, I'll just revert the deletion. --IByte 01:05, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
Link - spam?
What's up with the "pokerplays" link in the "On TV and Video" section? That looks suspiciously like spam. --24.46.164.83 00:48, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
- Removed. Thanks for the note. --BorgQueen 00:51, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
i removed "pre-recorded" cause a video always is (pre)recorded. otherwise it would be a live-stream/video/whatever.
Hey..
Anybody want to play? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.163.154.197 (talk) 17:17, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Poorly Written Excuse For An Article
"The rules of strip poker are flexible and intended to generate an atmosphere of fun, and to lighten the social atmosphere by the removal of clothing in place of or in addition to the betting of other games, but sometimes it is also to heighten the sexual atmosphere." You know, if you tried hard enough you could probably use the word "atmosphere" a fourth time in the same sentence. Hello comma splice. 174.99.62.107 (talk) 02:45, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- good point. you know, you can edit the article yourself if you want! The Land (talk) 19:58, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Removed some questionable parts
First, the story that strip poker goes back to the 1830s, though I've left it in as a rumor. The only sources for this are the FAQs of gambling pages. The Online Etymological Dictionary says the term "strip poker" is attested since 1929. That most likely refers to Joan Lowell's fake autobiography, but I have no source for that.
Second, the story that Dieter Eckhardt wrote the first strip poker game in the late 70s. There is no source for this, he probably spread the story himself, it's on his SETI@home profile [1]. An additional problem is that there is only one game designer named Dieter Eckhardt on record, and that is the guy who founded Golden Games in 1986 at the age of 19 [2][3]. So he would have been 12 in 1979, which makes the story even more unlikely.—Austriacus (talk) 23:02, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Yeah is right, I was 12/13 when I wrote a game like strip poker for the TRS80 in 1979/1980. Before "Golden Games" i made some games released under diffrent labels, from 1982 on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.204.232.196 (talk) 00:24, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
Nudity for no good reason
I'm thoroughly convinced that you people enjoy showing naked people whenever it can possibly be considered applicable. You know, I've got an image of a girl showing her snatch during a game of strip poker. I could upload it if you want. 173.217.161.228 (talk) 03:56, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- "Thoroughly convinced" by a single, relevant picture? Please. If you've nothing useful to say then I'd recommend not saying anything at all. JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 10:15, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't suppose it ever occurred to you that my experiences here predate my encounter with this article. 173.217.161.228 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:06, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
