Maxine Bahns

[edit]

Where is Maxine Bahns from 'notable people' section? Just came to this article from her page (she was born here), and noticed that I've never heard of those mentioned there. 82.141.117.133 (talk) 20:50, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no WP:RELY tying her to Stowe. Only vague references to "Vermont" which...could be anyplace. Once someone comes up with a valid citation, maybe she can be placed in some town. Whether that is Stowe or not remains to be seen. Student7 (talk) 23:41, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This Encyclopedia entry says she was born in Stowe: https://memim.com/maxine-bahns.html So does this link: https://www.amazon.com/prime-video/actor/Maxine-Bahns/nm0000827/ But I'm not sure if an Amazon prime bio is citation enough? --Jananteeni (talk) 10:40, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Jananteeni[reply]

So, I was able to find dozens of other Wikis citing her birthplace as Stowe. I'm including her in the list again.Jananteeni (talk) 10:47, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Jananteeni[reply]

History Section?

[edit]

The history section needs to be expanded beyond a brief description of a 2007 sporting event. As a rural New England town it presumably dates back to at least the 18th Century. It would sure be nice to read more about it. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.34.181.212 (talk) 05:24, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've expanded the history section to include both a brief discussion of the indigenous population pre-colonization in the 1800s and further information on post-colonial Stowe, including WW1 and WW2 Stowe, up to 2000. Not sure if the information on how skiing has historically impacted Stowe's economy belongs here or in the economy section, and I would like to have a wider variety of sources as well as I primarily built this section on just 3 different sources.Jananteeni (talk) 10:43, 29 December 2021 (UTC)Jananteeni[reply]
