[edit]DELETE. Briefly full of nonsense and now just a blank page. The latter is an improvement on the former, but deletion would eclipse both. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Matt.whitby (talk • contribs) .
- I've just undeleted it. Prior to the vandalism, which I didn't restore, the article was about a new-romantic singer. Unfortunately that wasn't clear without looking at the edit history. Leithp 13:28, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Steve Strange.....left? or expelled from school?
The Sex Pistols Gig in Newport was on 23.12.1977 and not in 1976.[1]--77.24.174.103 (talk) 20:24, 12 July 2009 (UTC) Sorry, there was another gig on 22.09.1976 I have overseen.--77.24.174.103 (talk) 20:30, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
April or May?
[edit]On the main part of the article, his birthday is listed as May 28, but to the right of it is listed as April 28th. Stopde (talk) 19:34, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- According to his autobiography, it's May 28th. 88.104.19.163 (talk) 14:48, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
- Also on his funeral's order of service. 217.155.200.241 (talk) 02:08, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Bisexual category
[edit]I have removed Categories "Bisexual Men" and "Bisexual Musicians" as it is unsourced. Although Steve Strange has made it clear he has been involved with both men and women in the distant past, there is nothing to support that he identifies as bisexual now. It is probably better if we simply leave the Category "LGBT Musicians" on the article instead as this is more emcompassing. 88.104.19.163 (talk) 14:53, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
Billy's?
[edit]Surprised no mention of Strange's nights at Billy's club in Meard Street. Isn't that where the new romantic thing started? I seem to remember it was Steve Strange's club one night and Stevo Pearce's Futurists on the next. Perhaps someone with better recall for dates and details could add something? The Blitz was so-named because the premises (in Covent Garden) had previously been a restaurant with a WWII/Dad's Army theme serving pie & mash. I think it's now Brown's nightclub.Twizzlemas (talk) 19:53, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
Main image
[edit]I wonder if we really do need to keep that peculiar live shot, but if you all like it, leave it in. I really dislike it. Steve has "red eyes", too. -andy 2.242.253.115 (talk) 15:55, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
First name
[edit]This source from The Guardian gives his name as "Steven John Harrington". Can anyone find a birth record at FreeBMD? I'm unable to. Martinevans123 (talk) 19:11, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- The V spelling was a common assumption throughout his life. Only at his funeral was the Stephen spelt out on the order of service which can be found online, here – https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2991701/1980s-stars-Boy-George-Martin-Gary-Kemp-pay-respects-funeral-New-Romantic-icon-Steve-Strange.html 217.155.200.241 (talk) 02:19, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
This whole biog is shockingly under-cited
[edit]Cannot understand why such a long life story is allowed to stand with so very few citations in support of its fundamental facts and numerous chapters. 217.155.200.241 (talk) 02:19, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
