Suicide?

[edit]

how did he die

Heart attack. It is in the article under Life After Football.--dan, dan and dan 23:16, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Make that suicide. See today's paper, and the updated article.--dan, dan and dan 21:38, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not so sure about that, today's paper is saying that the coroner is still investigating. It's likely that it was an accidental death (alcohol + antidepressants)
Not very accidental! People Know not to mix those meds with alcohol especially the amounts it would've taken to kill yourself.

To wiki editors, coroner rules it accidental in news today

Fair use rationale for Image:Steve Rogers past.jpg

[edit]

Image:Steve Rogers past.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Categorised as Austn Businessman

[edit]

I suppose he may have been a businessman at some point since he had a career after football; but the article doesn't actually say that and only refers to him being a Rugby League administrator. Like so many coaches I expect that only justifies him being left as a sportsman or RL player rather than a businessman. Will delete that Cat unless I hear an objection.-Sticks66 12:39, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth

[edit]

I am sceptical of the claim Steve was born on the Gold Coast. He went to school in the Sutherland Shire, Sutherland North PS and Jannali Boys High and had family nearby. He was in the year above me. He was a genuine athlete, competing as a sprinter in school carnivals and equally adept at soccer and rugby league. Always played for NSW though that may have been before the Origin concept. Curious whether Steve had some Aboriginal heritage. 124.254.80.98 (talk) 00:47, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there's an article cited (https://www.qrl.com.au/news/2020/06/29/foggy-memories-why-rogers-copped-a-lot-of-heat-for-maroons-choice/), wherein Mat says both his parents were Banana benders Local Potentate (talk) 04:07, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
