possible conflict of interest
[edit]I have known Stephen Lowe since 1984, and have been friends with him for much of that time. However, I had seen and admired a couple of his plays (Touched and Tibetan Inroads) before I ever met him. I am also a professional librarian, and so the principles of Wikipedia - ie neutrality, that information should be verifiable and referenced, and also comprehensiveness - were part of my professional training. (I will be adding some sources and references to the entry very soon.)
If I do have any impulse to promote Stephen's work on Wikipedia, it is to ensure that the work of a very fine playwright - one of his plays, Touched, was one of the fifty plays chosen by the Royal Court to represent their history in Look Back: 50 readings, 50 writers, 50 plays in 2006 - is not overlooked just because most of his recent work has not been produced in London.
Incidentally, I don't think there is any connection between the Wikipedia user Stelowe and Stephen Lowe (playwright). If you look carefully at Stelowe's only contribution to this entry, all he did was add these words, "Stephen Lowe, 18, Lancashire" (his name, his age and his location) - in other words, I think he is probably just a namesake.

[edit]I am in the process of trying to check whether Lowe has officially changed his name from Stephen Wright, or if Lowe remains his professional name. Therefore, text may not yet conform to strict Wikipedia guidelines. Skeowsha (talk) 15:18, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
