Resting place
[edit]The location of Wendover's grave has been removed from the infobox citing "doubts and non-notability". There is no requirement for something mentioned in the infobox to be "notable" in and of itself; otherwise we' have an article on it. We have three citations for the location of Wendover's grave, which is given in the body of the article, along with a picture of it. - Please see the archived discussion. Nikkimaria (talk) 16:00, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- I already did; there is nothing there which addresses my points. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:05, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
- The discussion of this point seems to have been somewhat inconclusive. (I have to correct my own statement at the time, I did not notice, although I looked for it, that Martin Van Buren's mega-infoboz mentions indeed the resting place.) Nikkimaria opposed mention of the resting place, Nouniquenames supported mentioning the locality [Kalamazoo, Michigan], and was neutral on the cemetery; and I was neutral (or rather in doubt, what would be be determining for or against). Pigsonthewing did not opine on the issue at the time, so we might as well open the debate again. The "three citations" are actually only one and a half. One obit mentions Kalamazoo, but not the name of the cemetery; the other obit mentions neither; and only Find a Grave has info on the cemetery and plot number. - If the citations are inadequate, they should be tagged as such, or removed; and the material to which they refer tagged as needing a citation, reworded or removed. Just removing something from the infobox is not the solution. On the other hand, if the citations are (or become) good enough for the fact to be in the article, then it should also be in the infobox. - "On the other hand, if the citations are (or become) good enough for the fact to be in the article, then it should also be in the infobox" - why? Nikkimaria (talk) 21:13, 29 December 2012 (UTC)
