  • ... that Stephanie Pollack is the first female transportation secretary of Massachusetts? (Source:[1])

Created by EoRdE6 (talk). Self-nominated at 03:09, 16 June 2020 (UTC).[reply]

  • We sometimes give a little extra time to first-time nominators, or people who haven't nominated in a while and might not be aware of rule changes. As best I can tell, EoRdE6 has only had two DYKs, both back in 2015, when an extension from seven to ten days was not unusual, and it may well be that they weren't aware we have tightened up since then. This was created on 6 June and nominated on 16 June, when it should have been nominated by 13 June. I'd like someone who has been reviewing DYK nominations for a while to give the circumstances here another look, and see whether ten days passes muster in this circumstance. Thanks. • ALT1: ... that lifelong Democrat Stephanie Pollack was appointed by lifelong Republican Charlie Baker to lead the Massachusetts Department of Transportation? (Source:[2])
@EoRdE6: That's a neat hook. But the hook facts have to appear in the article with a source. Nowhere does it talk about either one's "lifelong" political affiliations. Yoninah (talk) 14:16, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yoninah The phrasing is odd but I took it directly from the lede of that linked news article, I've added it a bit more clearly to the article on Pollack. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 14:25, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you. It certainly is in the headline of the source, and I tweaked the language in the article accordingly.
  • Here is a full review: IAR on newness requirement for nomination within 10 days of posting. Long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. ALT1 hook refs verified and cited inline. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 18:51, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

RMV Scandal

[edit]

I agree it needs to be included in the article, and probably could be done better than it currently is. But saying she is "best known for her involvement in the RMV scandal" is a blatant lie. Claims about the Mattapan Line Transformation need sourcing, as do any claims about her husbands occupation, which frankly doesn't belong in the infobox regardless. It's 2020, we don't define women by their husbands occupations anymore. Add sources and drop the weasel words please. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 00:37, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
