Fair use of sound file
[edit]Since the sound file, File:Kylie - Step Back in Time.ogg, has been removed by one editor citing WP:NFC, without saying how this image specifically violates it, I am starting a discussion here so that the image is not deleted simply for being orphaned.
The current consensus for sound files are that they are acceptable for use in single/song articles as long as they are small samples of the song. Aspects (talk) 14:35, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- I was wrong about the current consensus and since there is no critical commentary per Wikipedia:NFC#Audio clips, I have reverted my own edit adding the sound file back into the article. Aspects (talk) 16:22, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Step Back in Time. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}

- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20081231223129/http://www.fortunecity.com:80/tinpan/pettruciani/232/singles-1990.html to http://www.fortunecity.com/tinpan/pettruciani/232/singles-1990.html

Orphaned references in Step Back in Time
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Step Back in Time's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Hello, I'm MarioSoulTruthFan and I'll be reviewing your article.
Infobox
[edit]- be aware of the redirects "Stock, Aitken and Waterman". → Stock, Aitken and Waterman
- Shouldn't also have the "pop" genre?
Done
Lead
[edit]- However, it was certified → However, it was only certified
- "nd has been noted by music critics as one of her most popular tracks". → it should be in the paragraph above, not this one.
- Done
- Rhythm of Love Tour, On a Night Like This, Showgirl: The Homecoming Tour → year of the tours between parenthesis.
- appearance in the 2013 film The World's End. → appearance in the British comic science fiction film The World's End.
Background and composition
[edit]- Same as the first point in the infobox.
- "Step Back in Time" was composed by Stock, Aitken and Waterman → again?
- Water → who? You meant Waterman
- Done
Release and reception
[edit]- "The standard 12" vinyl was released worldwide, and featured the original recording, instrumental version and the Walkin' Rhythm mix; in the UK, the original recording was omitted. It was re-released as a 7" vinyl worldwide, and included the original recording and instrumental version. In November 1990, a CD single was issued by PWL Records in Japan and included the three tracks from the Australian vinyl; it was distributed worldwide that same month with the same track list. In France, a special mini CD included the original recording and instrumental version, whilst the same track list appeared on a cassette tape in Australia." → I'm having trouble following this section, needs some serious re-writing.
- "parent album" → You should replace it by the name of the album because you don't mention it in this section.
Done
Commercial performance
[edit]- "In New Zealand, it entered at number 36 on the New Zealand Singles Chart". → redundant; ""In New Zealand, it entered at number 36 on the singles chart"
- Done
Music video
[edit]- "as she believed was the era that celebrated disco music" → as she believed that was the era that celebrated disco music.
- he wrote → remove "he"
- Use a synonym of "scene", set for example instead of always saying "scene"
- remove "he believed"
- Done
Live performances
[edit]- On her 2005 Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour in London, United Kingdom, a sample of the track was performed during her the performance of her 2000 single "Spinning Around" → On her 2005 Showgirl: The Greatest Hits Tour in London, United Kingdom, a sample of the track was sung during the performance of her 2000 single "Spinning Around".
- Use sing or any other word instead of performance so many times.
- The same goes for tour, use show, circuit....
- Done
Other uses and appearances
[edit]- I'm not sure about the usage of that table, can you show me other articles using such table? I would rather have that in prose, seems just to much.
- Done. Changed to columns instead; having paraphrased them or put them into sentences would be too long, and Wikipedia advised not to use more than five citations within one sentence.
- It's better definitely, however not my cup of tea.

- Same for google books, iTunes, Digital Spy, record labels...easy if it's not a journal such as New York Times, Guardian, books and so on you don't italicize.
- You can't use setlistfm, it's not reliable...find another.
- Done. PLUS, thank you for telling me about the italicizing part; I was previously advised by other Wikipedians to keep it italized, but I knew it wasn't right.
- Well, this is the way I have seen done in FA articles and I keep it in the F«GA articles as well. Keep up the good work.
