[edit]A Stenter, sometimes called a Tenter is an specialist oven used in fabric processing for drying and heat treating fabric after wet processing.
It consists of heated chambers, addjustable to the width of the fabric being treated. Fabric is fed into the heated chamber supported at either selvedge by a series of stenter pins or clamps which support the fabric as it is moved through the drying chambers. (Note: Stenter pins are the modern equivalent of tenterhooks)
The input and output speed of the fabric is closely controlled, as is the output width, determining the moisture content of the fabric after drying, and the dimensional stability.
It is, however, a bit more complicated than that!!

- Can you find sources for this? We can't add it otherwise per Wikipedia:Verifiability. Glades12 (talk) 07:41, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
- No, ‘fraid not. I’m the source. That’s just something I wrote after getting back from the pub. Roxy, the PROD. . wooF 15:45, 25 January 2020 (UTC)
Reference ideas added
[edit]I have added two possible references above. I did not use them directly because I am not knowledgeable on the topic and may misinterpret them. Glades12 (talk) 09:28, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Both support what I wrote above. The second one is better. -Roxy, the PROD. . wooF 09:32, 1 February 2020 (UTC)

Can we not replace clothes with open width textiles? Thanks
- No. I have no idea why you want to. Please learn to sign your posts. thanks -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 07:29, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- it is better for the article. You are writing is nonsense! Thanks, RAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 08:10, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Why is it better? -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 08:12, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- The first sentence is difficult to read, poorly written, and misleading for the readers.

A Stenter (sometimes called a Tenter) is a specialist oven used in the textile industry for drying and heat treating fabric after wet processing.
Comparing to below, which is easily understandable
A Stenter (sometimes called a Tenter) is a machine for drying open width textiles with hot air.[2] it is kind of a specialist oven used in fabric finishing for drying and heatsetting the fabric after wet processing.
so stay focused on the content. And respect the facts
Read page 29,30. thanks, RAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 08:42, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Please explain what is difficult to read, poorly written, and misleading for the readers in the first sentence. I hope that this will answer my initial question, "why is it better?" as well. You need to explain why "The first sentence is difficult to read, poorly written, and misleading for the readers" your answer does not do this. -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 09:13, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- Articles should begin with a good definition or description. It is not a pizza making machine. Emphasize on drying capabilities. Follow accepted knowledge regarding its subject. ThanksRAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 09:33, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
- @ Roxy the inedible dog . Hey Dog, I am waiting for your response. kindly let me know why you are not agreeing with the editors and deleting the edits out of your rudeness and arrogance. How you can delete the things from the reference desk (Material unsuitable for talk pages may be subject to removal per the talk page guidelines. If you wish to ask a specific question on a topic, Wikipedia has a Reference desk; questions should be asked there rather than on talk pages)[[2]]and mum on the talk page. you should reply to me either on the article talk page or on the reference desk but you should not delete the things, it is not your property. Thanks RAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 08:17, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello UDEV. I'm sorry, but your use of english is so bad that I cannot follow your meaning here. What has my mum got to do with stenters? For the record, Your post at the Ref desk was removed because you improperly copied posts that I had made elsewhere, including my sig and timestamps, which made it look as if I had been posting there. This is unnacceptable behaviour. You also failed to notify me of a discussion you had initiated regarding me, a very rude thing to do that is considered unnacceptable on english wikipedia. -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 11:59, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hey Dog, Have to look the sample of your language command, don't forget for you it is the only language and for me, it is one of the three or four:
- I write English, you write english
- I can understand unacceptable but what is unnacceptable
- And you learn its not wikipedia , it is Wikipedia.
And how many times i told you that your concern should be the content. The article, not me.RAJIVVASUDEV (talk) 13:10, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello devvy boy. If you can speak other languages then why dont you contribute in one of the languages you are fluent in, instead of this one where you are incompetent? -Roxy the inedible dog . wooF 13:27, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- Who is devvy? BTW we were here, i was simply asking permission to change the lead of the article like —————————— A Stenter (sometimes called a Tenter) is a machine for drying open width textiles with hot air.[3] it is kind of a specialist oven used in fabric finishing for drying and heatsetting the fabric after wet processing.
You were supposed to discuss the facts. and that was enough to close the topic. But not, you are silent.
if you are the competent! you should have been replied to this. Please respect the talk page guidelines and stop provoking, framing, and causing blocks to the new users them. There are few more corrections in your english/English.
