Copy is remarkably clean on the whole. Not much to do. Ping me when done. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 06:43, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
Did you know? If you fancy doing so, I always have plenty of GA nominees to review. Just look for the all-uppercase titles in the Television section. Reviews always appreciated.

[edit]- November 1, 2008 SNL episode Needs a MOS:GEOCOMMA
- Done
- Mulaney left SNL in 2012 but would periodically return maybe "but periodically returned"? WP:INTOTHEWOULDS was once linked to me and feels relevant.
- Done
- second-time hosting probably not hyphen-able
- Done
- should be "Meyers's" per MOS:'S
- Done
- David Reddish of Queerty wrote that he loved Stefon "in all his messy, gay glory", and that Remove the comma outside of the quote... I almost thought you'd get away without a WP:CINS issue.

Sourcing and spot checks
[edit]- 2: Miller and Shales mentions co-creation by Hader and Mulaney, p. 608.
- 3:
John got an email for a club from a guy, I think. Thought John was gay, and he sent John a club. He was like, you gotta come to this club, this club has everything. And the club was called, like Push, or something. One of the things in the email was rooms full of broken glass.
- 15:
They write the sketch long so SNL Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers can provide feedback on what jokes to cut.
- 42: 2010 AV Club review.
Hader doing Stefon is fun to watch, though, mostly because it seems to always break him and Seth Meyers about two-thirds of the way in. This time the breaking point was him singing a twisted version of the "12 Days of Christmas."
- 65: Yeah, he announced his pregnancy.
- 67:
Among Stefon’s name drops: Verne Troyer, Roman J. Israel Esq. and Farrah-cauns — that is, leprechauns that look like Farrah Fawcett. (“But also, yes, Minister Farrakhan will be there.”)
- 71:
Last year, Hader explained that SNL had “floated” the idea that he come back to play Stefon – a gay character – but he’d turned it down because of the political climate. ... He went on to say how the idea that people saw the character differently to him had been eye-opening, “because I really love Stefon and it never occurred to me that he would be seen as a stereotype, and that really hurt”. Since then, though, he’s changed his mind. “Honestly, I don’t know why I said that,” he tells me. “I probably would play him. I think just being asked the question at that point in time kind of made me anxious.”
I think the fact this is a change of heart could be played up a bit more in prose, but - 73:
At the black-tie benefit, which raised over $1.3 million for Autism Speaks and New York Center for Autism, Seth Meyers prompted a Stefon-channeling Hader to recommend some holiday clubbing
- 76: This ref is now a dead link. The archived copy checks out. The doll is mentioned in text, and it visually appears as a matryoshka in the included image.
- 97: 2016 THR article:
“Maybe now that he has hosted Saturday Night Live they’ll think twice about the jokes they’ve made at little people’s expense,” says Campbell — referring to a running gag in Bill Hader’s popular Stefon sketches in which he described “midgets” in demeaning situations.
Earwig only flags attributed quotes and the title of a cited work.
Images
[edit]The lone image is a low-res, NFUR-bearing screenshot of Stefon. Yeah, that's about the only worthwhile image for this page. Encouragement: More descriptive alt text for Stefon's appearance is probably merited.
- @Sammi Brie: I have finished editing what you requested. Surprisingly, many character-related Good and Featured articles do not have alt text or have ones that are not so descriptive like Sadie Harris so I have nothing to reference, but I tried my best. - Reviewed: Second nomination, no QPQ needed
- Comment: All hooks are verified in the article and hooks can be added, modified or removed if needed. Another hook I thought of but unsure if it would fit was something like "... that New York's hottest club is (something here)?" based on the character's famous quote. It can be an April Fools hook, but I assume it would also work well as a normal one.
Improved to Good Article status by Spinixster (talk). Self-nominated at 01:31, 18 March 2024 (UTC).
Number of QPQs required: 0. Nominator has less than 5 past nominations.
Post-promotion hook changes will be logged on the talk page; consider watching the nomination until the hook appears on the Main Page.
- New GA, well sourced and written, no copyvio, no QPQ needed. Removed a couple phrases that seemed undue for the lede. @Spinixster: It would be good to more directly cite
criticized due to his stereotypical nature
in the body despite how obvious that is. Approve hooks ALT1 (and my shortened revision ALT1a) and ALT2; ALT0 is too specialist, ALT3 isn't really interesting, and ALT4 is in universe. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 17:52, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
