Ambiguous statement
[edit]Where it says 'and increased his vote at the 1987 election' is perhaps misleading. If the results here are accurate, although the number of votes he got went up his vote share went down 1.5% as there was bigger turnout in 1987. I wonder if it would be better to leave this out.Dunarc (talk) 14:24, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Religion?
[edit]I wonder if anything has been on record about his religion? I have always wondered if like most native Ukrainians he was Eastern Orthodox, which would make him the first of that faith to win a general election to the British House of Commons. AFAIK the only Eastern Orthodox adherent to serve in the Commons was The Honourable Frederick North (who had adopted the faith while in Greece shortly before) at Banbury during the 1790s but he entered parliament in a by-election and did not seek re-election.Cloptonson (talk) 08:20, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
