Surname

[edit]

What is the ethnic origin of his surname? Badagnani (talk) 23:11, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can conjecture that it's Greek, based on page 23 of Word Freak: "Backgammon, though, I could play. Summers on the Greek island of Chios, where my father was born, passed with endless session of the game in three variant forms -- standard backgammon, plakoto (Greek backgammon) and moultezimi (Turkish backgammon). I recall sitting in the coffee shop in the central square of the ancestral village eating sweets and beating local men sixty years my senior." Nepotism at NPR?

[edit]

I learned today by way of an on-air admission, that regular guest on NPR's All Things Considered, Stefan Fatsis is the husband of Melissa Block, a host of All Things Considered, who interviewed him today. Is he paid by NPR for his appearances? Is his position related to his family connection? See also Rebecca Roberts, daughter of Cokie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.99.214.10 (talk) 00:28, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
