Do we need this?

This seems to mostly contain material that is not, in fact, about stays. Since, AKAIK, "stays" and "shrouds" are basically synonyms, and we also have a Sailboat shroud article, we should probably turn this into a redir, no? I think there's only one sentence here (the stuff about "in stays" - AKA "in irons"), which could be moved there. Noel (talk) 22:37, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, most of it is not about stays, and can be removed. Stays and shrouds still deserve separate articles, though, as they are usually considered different terms.
