Neutrality

[edit]

The tone of this article is seriously POV. I'm going to hack it about some. Evilteuf 15:08, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you feel that the current version is OK wrt POV problems? Rswarbrick (talk) 18:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article about laws in Ireland does not mention the severe effect on the Irish in Ireland of those laws. While their focus may have been on the English, to not mention their long-lasting effect on the Irish (a subject people without the rights of English subjects), is extremely biased. This article needs a section showing the effect of the Statutes of Kilkenny on the natives of Ireland, not just the English. Galliv (talk) 17:59, 21 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Still on the books

[edit]

Don't know if it is of interest, but the Statutes were repealed by the ROI in 1983 (having inherited them from England). That I know of, they have never been officially repealed by England.

1366 or 1367?

[edit]

The article has both years in it, but the statute itself talks about the 40th year of the reign of Edward III and 1367 A.D. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.106.44.252 (talk) 20:25, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

The article “Statute of Kilkenny” should be merged into this article. https://simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statute_of_Kilkenny Jmcmen (talk) 11:01, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
