District Members
[edit]With regard to above, can you please explain what it meant by district members? Thanks Djflem (talk) 21:10, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- This article is about a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The "district members" are simply sites located within the district. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 23:18, 11 February 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.45.175.241 (talk)
Coordinate error
[edit]{{geodata-check}}
The coordinates need the following fixes: The area in map view needs to be expanded to include both Ellis and Liberty Islands.
--Djflem (talk) 08:07, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Your request for coordinate correction has been pending here for more than seven days and it might be because either (or both) (a) it's not really a coordinate — latitude and longitude — issue, which is what the {{geodata-check}} tag is for, or (b) those who patrol Category:Talk pages requiring geodata verification don't understand exactly what it is you're asking for (I know that I, at least, am in the (b) group because I'm not sure what you mean by "area in map view"). Could you please say a bit more about what needs to be done? Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 14:31, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- When ones clicks on the current coordinate, Liberty Island appears. As the monument district includes Ellis Island, I wondered if there was a way in which the map shown when clicking on the coord could offer wider view than the current one: a greater surface area (acreage) or wider angle shot to include it, but not as wide as that of bay itself: coord|40|40|06|N|74|02|44|W|, which is now at top of this page: 40°40′06″N 74°02′44″W / 40.66833°N 74.04556°W? Thanks,Djflem (talk) 18:00, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Fixed, I think. I moved the map view out a little so both islands can be seen, but if the focus point was left on Liberty Island, Ellis was just at the edge of the page. I therefore moved the center point into the water between the two islands and inserted the specific coords of the two islands with a larger scale in the lede of the article. What do you think? Regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 18:49, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Great, thanks alot! Djflem (talk) 18:53, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Statue of Liberty National Monument
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Statue of Liberty National Monument's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "nyt-1998-05-27":

- From Liberty Island: Greenhouse, Linda (May 27, 1998), "THE ELLIS ISLAND VERDICT: THE RULING; High Court Gives New Jersey Most of Ellis Island", New York Times
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 01:22, 15 January 2011 (UTC)
