Expand and rename

[edit]

This sentence ("Compact states are one of six different shapes for states") caught my attention, because it made me wonder what the other five are. Took quite awhile to get the answer (elongated or attenuated; fragmented; prompted; perforated; complex) and it wasn't on Wikipedia. The shapes of states are a useful basic concept for political geography so I propose to expand this article to describe all six shape types with their advantages and disadvantages, and then to rename the article State shapes. Thoughts? Objections? UrbanToreador (talk) 15:39, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
