Requested edit

[edit]

I reverted this set of edits by ChandanShree (talk · contribs). He identifies himself as the project manager of the very topic he is writing about. For that reason alone, he should not write about this topic directly. So, as a courtesy, I am asking an experienced editor with no conflict of interest who is familiar with India's State Wide Area Network and especially the Bihar State Wide Area Network to decide if this belongs in the article at all, and if so, what content belongs, keeping the amount proportional to the sections of the article that describe similar networks. The amount in ChandanShree's edit was way out of porportion - even if it had been inserted by someone without a conflict of interest, it would need to be greatly reduced. If this request needs to be declined, please say if it's an outright "this material does not belong here" decline, a "this needs to be discussed" decline, or some other reason. Also, ping ChandanShree so he has a chance to see the reply. On a hyper-technical note, I am slightly-abusing the template (see WP:IAR). The editor did NOT contact me about the subject, so technically no editor with a conflict of interest is making the request. However, I did want to get this in Category:Requested edits, and this was the right way to do it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:59, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The COI editor alone needs to propose this information using the {{request edit}} template. If davidwr is wanting to act as proxy for the COI editor, they need to propose the information here using the same format of "please change x to y using z" shown below that other COI editors are expected to use:
Change x to y using z
x A verbatim description of the old text to be removed from the article (if any)[1]
y A verbatim description of the new text to be added to the article (if any)[1]
z A reference which verifies the requested change. Reasons for the change should also be provided.[2]
Example edit request:

Please change:

  • The Sun's diameter is 25 miles.
↑ This is x ↑

to read as:

  • The Sun's diameter is 864,337 miles.
↑ This is y ↑

using as a reference:

  • Harinath, Prisha (2020). The Sun. Academic Press. p. 1.
↑ This is z ↑
  • Kindly open a new edit request (or ask the original COI editor to make the request) using the format above at your earliest convenience when ready to proceed.

Full list of state area networks needs to be in article

[edit]

Someone familiar with the topic needs to make sure all of the "State Area Networks" are listed alongside Andhra, Gujarat, Jharkand, Kerala, and Goa's. If some are "not worth more than a mere mention" they need to be at least listed, for the sake of completeness. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:26, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
