Screen shots
Can we get a screenshot where non-players of the game can actually see the game in decent comprehensible detail? Also, that doesn't look like actual game play, it looks like a mission selection scene I saw in another starwars game. But, then again, non-players of the game can't comprehend this picture.--Can Not 13:55, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
Editing
I've cleaned the article up some, in particular eliminating the favorable bias throughout the article. Further, I eliminated the old "Gameplay" text and added sections about gamemodes and multiplayer. It definately needs expanding, however. The unit, planet and creature lists seemed relevant (and were linked) so I left those in. The structure list, however, was un-linked. Further, stating empire can build a Barracks in an RTS like EAW only adds clutter to the article. Comments?--Eagle Seven 05:09, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree completely. I think the big lists of units and planets should go. If they absolutely must stay, I'd say put them in a daughter article. I would also point out that other RTS articles, notably StarCraft (which is a featured article) don't mention lists of units like this. --DarthBinky 21:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Gameplay?
This article as it is need heavy editing and additions. A description of gameplay is really required. Mikademus 08:44, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
There is not a single mission in the game that involves 'stealing the Death Star plans' as has been quoted in the paragraph titled 'Campaign'. Kensai Feon, 10:27, 15 May 2006
- Yes there is--for the Rebels. I just completed that mission yesterday. It is accomplished by Chewbacca and Han Solo alone. :D -- authraw 19:34, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
No there isn't. The mission you are refering to is the one where Chewbacca and Han Solo are stealing schematics for the Mon Calimari (I did this mission this morning for the 3rd time) There is no mission for stealing the death star plans. M4671 12:42 10 July 06
Your right, there isn't.I'll Change that Wardhog 21:02, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Comments
Is it nessary to list the confirmed planets and units? I am eagerly awaiting this game, but this is a wikipedia article, not a fanboy data collection. I am sure there are many forums that have postings on this, and it seems to me that a simple paragraph or two summarizing the units and planets would be much better.--SirNuke 03:48, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
- I added the cleanup tag to the article. Right now the it seems like it should be named "List of things appearing in Star Wars: Empire at War" than an article for the game itself. While other game articles do have lists of selectible characters, they at least try and give some description about those characters on that page or in a specific character's article linked in the list. The current lists do have links to what those units are, but they don't describe how they relate back to the game. --TheKoG 20:26, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Hello!
I'm just putting these in until the game is released, and I can put in a good Gameplay and Storyline section. Thanks for not deleting it.

Point of view?
This whole entry seems to start off as an ad for the game. Hardly an encyclopedia worthy entry. It should focus on the facts of the game, not a sales pitch about how sweet it is.
- It seems to fit the NPOV fine to me. What do you suggest needs to be done? It could stand to be organized a tad better. If we can gather enough things that need to be done for this article, i will creat a "To-do" box for it. --Dukester101 15:32, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Expansion Pack
Under the "expansion pack" heading, it says that it is unknown if the Rebels or Empire will be playable. If it is an expansion pack, it is almost certain that they will be able to (I haven't met an expansion pack yet that removed game features) but if it is actually a sequel to the game, this fact could be questionable. So is it an expansion pack or a sequel? -- authraw 20:16, 9 May 2006 (UTC) i would appreciate it if the creators created a game where u could play as the CIS or the old republic-Bobafett12
- The page on the LucasArts website [1] is calling it an expansion pack. I'll remove the comment. BryanG 22:07, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Gaming clans
I removed the gaming clan section from this article. This has come up before, specifically at the Rome: Total War article. The problem is that gaming clans are rarely actually notable. Notice that virtually every other game that has an article (specifically games known for their clan system such as Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, StarCraft, Quake series and even the article about gaming clans itself) does not mention specific clans.
Also, there is no way to verify that the clans listed here are "major". What makes those clans "major" and worth mentioning? Unless a fair, clear and (most importantly) verifiable set of criteria is made, clans should not be listed- otherwise it's just advertising, and that's a no-no. Cheers --DarthBinky 16:06, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- In order to get further consensus on this issue, I brought up clans in the talk for computer game wikiproject page, a link for which can be found at the top of the talk here. --DarthBinky 20:20, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- There is a way to verify a clan as "major", but I did not feel the need to cite a link. If you wish, look on this website. http://eclipticalrealms.com/ and it shows DS, DW, the two clan links you removed as the top clans for the EaW game. Not many clans offically support EaW, and I thought it mentionalble to share one of the few that did. I don't know how Empire at War compares to other games, but since there is such a little fanbase, the "major" multiplayer clans ARE known. --cedarpointfan 14:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- They may be "major" in the context of the small group (that website lists two tournaments, one with 28 people, the other with around 150; both are relatively small groups), but they aren't notable. And that's assuming that there aren't any other clans out there that A: you haven't run into and B: don't know about Wikipedia- which is entirely possible.
- However, as I said, the consensus seems to be that clans should not be mentioned in Wikipedia articles. --DarthBinky 01:42, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Starship Troopers
I deleted the link and refrence to the mod. The website is no longer good and no website has gotten any updates in atleast 3 months, and unfortunately the mod is dead, I was really looking forward to it, but oh well...
Lists
This article contains far, far too many lists, they need to be condensed into prose. The external links section is also far too big, there is definitely no need to have so many links to mods and fansites. Timkovski 20:22, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- I agree completely. I would also point out that StarCraft's article, which is a featured article, would make a good model for how this should look. Cheers --DarthBinky 21:53, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Right then, I propose cutting the list down to just the official website, the link to wookiepedia the list of fansites (as that removes the need for any links to any other fansites) and this one http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/mods/starwarsempireatwar/mod.html for mods as it lists the majority of mods that are already linked. Timkovski 09:54, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Since nobody has disagreed, I shall make the changes. Timkovski 10:49, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
Mods
There should be some info on the mods than some people made. CommonEditor2345 21:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
I agree, the modding scene for EAW/FoC is pretty large, it definately deserves a section on here. Ross (talk) 12:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
There are several mods which should be featured, such as:
Conflict in Space--- Star Trek--- Stargate--- Confederacy Mod--- Jedi Civil War Mod (units from Knights of the Old Republic)---"Star Wars: Republic at War" Mod---"Imperial Assault" Mod
The number of new units in the game doubles or even triples the original game's units. Furthermore, units from the original game have undergone significant upgrades to them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.34.50.155 (talk) 03:08, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
