Surely the radius of turn formula is incorrect. It should read TAS(kt) ÷ rate of turn × 60 × pi

--10FEB2012 It was incorrect. The original writing of the formula used RateOfTurn(1,2,3) * 60, where RateOfTurn was a selection of 1 or 2 or 3. However, there was an edit made to change 60 to 20, which would make RateOfTurn have to be 3, 6, 9. Standard rate or rate one is always 3 degrees per second. Aircraft may turn at different rates (it depends on speed, not weight) but that does not change the definition. Added references to clarify this. Altaphon (talk) 02:04, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Something is wrong with the approximation formula for standard rate bank angle, it does not seem close at all to the arctan formula for typical maneuvering ground speeds between say 50 knots and 160 knots.
