New books
[edit]Perhaps something about the Berenstain's faith should be included in the article, as well as that there is going to be some Christian-themed Berenstain Bears books coming out in the fall. http://zondervan.typepad.com/zondervan/2008/03/zonderkidz-will.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kristamaranatha (talk • contribs) 05:47, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]First paragraph has "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" lyrics. Reverting to a previous version. 129.118.147.211 (talk) 19:13, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
"born and raised in a neighborhood of west Philadelphia" is still pretty close to "Fresh Prince." Is there any citation for that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.140.146.226 (talk) 16:06, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
The note in the information box for Jan Berenstain: "Cause of death, stroke, car accident." is not supported by obituaries which make no mention of car accidents--simply stating that she died in a hospital after suffering a stroke. Leo Berenstain
[edit]Older son Leo Berenstain is one manager of the franchise --reportedly according to our first Berenstain Bears source, which is now dead (Loviglio, 2011). — interject Washington Times copy of that AP article [1] -P64
We say in the last paragraph of Berenstain Bears#History (citing Weeks, 1996) that Leo and Mike worked on 1990s volumes published as by Stan and Jan Berenstein.
The Library of Congress online catalog includes one record for Leo Berenstain as creator, The wind monkey & other stories (Random House, 1992).[2]

Orthography
[edit]There seems to be a bit of controversy about the spelling of the authors' last name : Berenstain /vs/ Berenstein. Some peeople claim it to be an example of something that's called the Mandela effect.

- "Berenstain" is a proper noun. Orthography does not apply.
- Lacking independent reliable sources on the subject, there is nothing to discuss here.
- Incidentally, anonymous-single-purpose-editor-who-forgot-to-sign-their-post, this has been brought up repeatedly at Talk:Berenstain Bears by numerous other anonymous single purpose editors who forgot to sign their posts. There is more than enough discussion of this there. - SummerPhDv2.0 13:26, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
Actually i came here wanting to know about this issue. I knew that the Books were named after the people, but then a ran into a problem, now i need to know where the name Barenstain comes from. I got a theory which says that they got this name from immigration passing though a place like Ellis Island. Its not uncommon for names of people to get changed by the people at Ellis Island so i figures id like to know when there name might have been changed from there original Jewish names. so i can know where in the past this Mandela effect timeline might have got changed. Even if time travel and parrellel worlds is not possible i still want to know this information so i can get a idea, just for the sake of learning. 2602:306:32D8:24D0:D9FD:642F:5F44:3F83 (talk) 19:00, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Needs a total rewrite
[edit]This article is not encyclopedic. It is written in a style so anodyne as to render it useless, as if some kindly acquaintance were writing a very bland encomium, intended for reading to young children. Much is unsourced. I recommend blowing it up and starting afresh. Very bad read as it stands; time to find real RSs and give the world a useful article.--Quisqualis (talk) 17:13, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
