State of High Farmland

[edit]

I added a bit about the high farmland in the area (which is naturally acidic IIRC), and its increasing dereliction. I remember this was a major concern of the Peak Park consultation document in the mid 70s, and I don't think things have got any better for hill-agriculture since. But it's a few years since I walked up eg the West facing valleys on to Merryton Low so if someone thinks things are now better, let them say here and change. (And when I next get back home I'll have an excuse to go out for a check). Bob aka Linuxlad 21:03, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
