Text from merged article - St. Michael's high School,Patna
[edit]St. Michaels High School, Patna was established in 1858 by the Congregation of Irish Christian Brothers in the city of Patna. The school is amongst the oldest missionary schools in Eastern India. It is situated on the banks of the river Ganges. The control of the school was passed on to the missionaries of the Jesuit Society or Society of Jesus of the American Chicago Province, sometimes in 1968. The Jesuit Fathers had been running Patna's oldest Jesuit school, the St. Xaviers and both the schools functioned at their best under the guidance of Late Father Gordon Edmund Murphy SJ. (Death 1972 Patna). The School changed from ICSE Board to CBSE Board in the year 1988.
