Named after?
[edit]A little background on (the person) St. Stephan[who?] would be useful.
I added: The namesake is the First Century martyr. -- please correct or modify as needed.
Also: since this is an English-language WP, I added External link to Google translation of 'official website' (Unsure of proper formatting; I will check on it, but if anyone is familiar, please check): http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.ststephan.ch

Confused
[edit]The article states: The municipality includes..., The municipality consists of... Would that be an 'and'? Also confused about There is not a place known as St. Stephan. (Isn't a 'Municipality' a "place"? ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 17:13, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
- A municipality is the lowest level of government. In this case, the municipality is made up of several villages or hamlets, none of which are called St. Stephan. In most municipalities, there is a village from which the municipality takes it's name, but not here.Tobyc75 (talk) 23:07, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
Surrounded?
[edit]At least in English the term "Surrounded by" has an ominous overtone; (as in: "You're surrounded; surrender or else!"). Suggest changing to: "Bordered by". However, this would require changing the Infobox Swiss town template. If my understanding is correct, a 'Municipality' is an area, and not a location (?) Therefore it would be bordered by other (areas), rather than being a location, having 'neighbors' some distance away. ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 17:59, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
- All land in Switzerland is part of a municipality. In rural areas, the municipality may have lots of space between villages, but the municipal borders always touch. In urban areas, there may be one or several towns in the municipality, but be completely filled with buildings. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by area vs location, but each municipality has several neighbors. As for surrounded/bordered either sounds fine to me, you should bring that up at the info box talk page.Tobyc75 (talk) 23:13, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
