I've tried to add some information about the school itself, gleaned from a few minutes searching the web. However, I'm concerned that the school does not appear on this list: [1] Does it still exist? Accurizer 16:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
The school no longer exists, But I went to it. It was supported by the Birmingham Oratory which was located next door. Kroche53 18:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC).
Cleanup and correct date, add source
[edit]This edit:
16:06, 23 September 2006 212.32.85.144 (St Philip's was not founded by Cardinal Newman, ands should not be confused with the Oratory school, which was funded by Newman in 1859.)
has added potentially interesting data but the date is nonsense and the sentence is unsourced. It also has coding errors. The school does exist, and indeed occupied an architecturally notable listed building see Images of England entry, read text - ignore title, so the article ought to be improved. Sixth form college
[edit]The school became a sixth-form college and in 1995 merged with South Birmingham College Ofsted report 2001 - new address: St Philips Sixth Form College (South Birmingham College), Hagley Road, Edgbaston B16 8UF, www.sbirmc.ac.uk[2] although it is not not currently mentioned on that website.
