US Bank

In your introduction you list several companies headquartered or with major operations in the city. One you listed is US Bank. From my understanding, US Bank is headquartered and maintains most of their operations in Minneapolis. Is there a source that cites them having major cooperate operations in St. Louis? Otherwise it should probably be removed. 2601:441:4C00:C1C0:0:0:0:FA14 (talk) 21:14, 24 October 2022 (UTC)

Yes I tend to agree, although U.S. Bank has a major skyscraper in downtown ST. Louis, its connection to the city seems no stronger than to several other major cites. Some of the other entries in that list deserve similar scrutiny. I have removed U.S Bank. Grey Wanderer (talk) 21:28, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
US Bancorp's Community Development Corporation has its headquarters in downtown St. Louis. At one time they had over 4,500 employees in St. Louis.
US Bank is headquartered in MN.

Global city?

At very least, a citation is needed; St Louis seems fairly insignificant, globally. 'Gamma cities are ones with a minor economic connection with the world economy.' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.200.126.73 (talk) 12:41, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

Change official name from "City of St. Louis" to "City of Saint Louis"

Please change the name to "City of Saint Louis" 2600:1016:B028:5ECE:DD1B:BF8B:23B5:C6B3 (talk) 00:05, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

I’m 90% sure the official name includes the abbreviation. Unless you have a source that says otherwise, I think we should stick to that. Grey Wanderer (talk) 04:41, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
The City website uses the abbreviation as does the seal. (at the bottom) https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/
So does the present city charter https://library.municode.com/mo/st._louis/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=CH_ARTIIN Riverbanditry (talk) 05:53, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

Change founding date from "Febuary 14th, 1764" to "Febuary 15th, 1764"

Well see, it's complicated. Grey Wanderer (talk) 07:10, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Namesake of St. Louis

The namesake of St. Louis is Louis XV, not Louis IX. The misconception was caused by the presence of a statue of the latter in the city. When the French founded the city, they named the city for their current king (Louis XV), not realizing that France had ceded half of Louisiana to Spain in 1762. Education -- Colleges and Universities

There is an error in the first sentence of this topic in the Saint Louis article. The Sentence begins, "The city is home to three national research universities ...." But onlt two are listed. Washington University, an R1 Doctorate-granting University under the Carnegie Classification, and St. Louis University, an R2 Doctorate-granting University under the Carnegie Classification. The third missing university is the University of Missouri - St. Louis, an R2 Doctorate-granting University under the Carnegie Classification. The sentence should be corrected to add the University of Missouri - St. Louis. 2600:6C44:757F:9FA1:2C59:57C0:CB68:D93D (talk) 05:44, 23 July 2023 (UTC)

Government

The Board of Aldermen now only has 14 members, as of April 2023, and St. Louis only has 14 wards.
