PROD removal
[edit]Keep. This article was PRODed, and I removed the tag. The user who PRODed argued this isn't a notable series with respect to all the other series of the era, and that it should be deleted. I'd be totally fine with someone proposing this for AfD, but PROD is a bit much. Even if this went through AfD, I'd argue that we should keep it because there are a ton of similar articles about one nation touring another from the exact same season; will we delete them all? I'd also mention those other articles all have around the same amount of content as this one, which is to say, not much content besides the basic stats of the series. Lengthy international tours involving Test matches are IMO always good to have articles about, and I would personally love to have an article about every single Test tour that major cricketing nations have had. I feel this way because tours like this one are truly major events in the sport of cricket. The only more important events are World Cups. They also aren't that common; this was basically the only tour Gavaskar played against Sri Lanka in his whole career. The real problem is just that no one has the time to create an article for every single tour these countries have had. Someone has graciously created this one and we should strive for more, not delete this. But I would say that if possible, it would be great to add a bit more color to this article if anyone recalls anything interesting from the series. Climate7298 (talk) 09:59, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
LOI series
[edit]This particular article also should have a 5 match ODI series to it's name. Abishe (talk) 07:19, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
