Team colours

[edit]
Flag of Ceylon

The section on team colours proclaims that the blue colour depicts the Indian Ocean. Sounds like a cock and bull story to me. According to a commentary I heard on TV by Hemasiri Fernando, president of the National Olympic Committee, the blue colour is adopted from the old flag of Ceylon. I tagged the statement with a "citation needed." Chanaka L (talk) 14:48, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

nicknamed The Lions (Lonthayo),[8] represents Sri Lanka in men's international cricket. It is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) status.[9] The team first played international cricket (as Ceylon) in 1926–27, and were later awarded Test status in 1981, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 43.250.243.236 (talk) 09:59, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
