I think, "capsize" here was wrongly used as a noun. Sounds awkward.

Armament mounted below the waterline might be less than useful. The sponsons I'm familiar with (on aircraft carriers) were well above the waterline...

In this context, I think they mean a flotation device or stabilizer, not a gun mount. 96.54.53.165 (talk) 20:57, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So how is a sponson different from an outrigger? From the definition, they sound the same.VaneWimsey (talk) 23:35, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Take the time to look around Wikipedia? http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Outrigger From the article they don't look remotely the same. 71.12.248.94 (talk) 03:05, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It should be clear in the article. I have fixed that. ScooterSponson (talk) 15:31, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Totally WORTHLESS images

[edit]

I see a damned boat and an airplane. Since I don't' know what a "sponson" is, these two photos offer not one god damned clue. If we have to use these generic images, we should eithier zoom in on the "sponson" or circle it in red. These images are like posting a planet of Earth and saying "this is dirt".....technically could be correct but nowhere explanatory.

If you guys spent as much time creating quality articles as you do begging for money via popups, WP would be awesome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.210.228.230 (talk) 05:44, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

More images

[edit]

Are there more images we could add? I still didn't understand what a sponson was even after I read the page, due to a lack of images. UNSC Luke 1021 (talk) 11:04, 4 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
